He had everything: great voice, talent writing songs, playing guitar and piano and he looked incredibly good. This is how we remember David Cassidy. RIP
For some reason, this show, and it's music, is like soothing medication for me...blows the Brady Bunch, and pretty much every other family show out of the water!!
David was so lovely here. This is a great song, his voice is so breathy and wonderful. So many of the PF songs were great then, and timeless now. David was always more than just a teen idol, a role he detested, but it was all innocent stuff. We only ever wanted to hold his hand, walk along the beach with him leaving our footprints in the sands of time. Whatever happened to all of us....
Role made him famous, but then was like an albatross around his neck for the rest of his life. It was hard for many in the music business to see him then as a serious musician.
What a fabulous sound they had . David had a voice we will never hear again from anyone else . His voice was so sweet and sensual at the same time. May he Rest In Peace. Thanks so Much for this Jamie
Yes.... A little like Michael Patrick Kelly.... Sensual and sweet... I love that kind of voices. They're so heart touching..... If you don't know him, Elizabeth, try his song Roundabouts or Higher Love. Quite possibly you'll like Paddy, too. 😊
This hurts. The Fam was a big part of my childhood. I teased the crap outta my younger brother for buying Sound Magazine but he kept bugging me to listen to it. I relented. He was right. The GREAT Shirley Jones, and backup courtesy The Wrecking Crew! See you in the band, David.
If you don’t mind i’d Like to borrow that! I’ve also heard his voice described as velvet vibrato. Or velvet silk. He is one of a kind in music history. Totally underrated. I’m on a crusade to make the world realize what we just lost.
I have Sound Magazine on vinyl. There's a Boyce and Hart song on it. I'm On My Way Back Home. "Love, that's what's waiting for me. That's where I've got to be..." And Echo Valley 2-6809. Great album.
stupid critics insulting this music. It's about love and devotion, I guess that's too "square" for them! They didn't like songs having men sing songs of longing for one woman.
Matthew Reese I heard David Cassidy wrote this song, even though at the time he hated this type of music . Back then he was into rock n roll and heavy metal .
Thank you for the joy and inspiration that you have brought to our lives. Such a remarkable talent. For almost 50 years, you shared your talents with us. You brought so many joy and fond memories. We will never forget who owned the world in the early 1970's.
Rest in sweet peace my precious David. You are forever loved & missed. Your handsome face & that sexy, silky voice makes me melt. YOU WERE THE VERY BEST❣️❣️❣️
Fantastic! I love this song! It brings me right back. I remember the day before I was to see him in concert in 71, I kept singing it, changing it to 24 hours away, 😄! Oh how excited I was! Love you, David, always will! Rest in God’s Peace, ❤️
...;and those magical horns and violins just come out of NO WHEFE? SUCH PURITY AND innocence. What happened? Absolutely beautiful piece of work. So many musical themes.
Also One of my favorite songs! Davids voice is so gentle and strong and I love just the Way who He sings!:) Danny was so a lovley, sweet rascal, always for smiling!;-)
One of my favorites. And this one you can see that David was actually playing the guitar (re chord changes). Also, Brian was doing a really good job keeping the beat on the drums (or at least pretending to). RIP David, Dave and Susanne.
“When the singer’s gone, let the song go on. It’s a fine line between the darkness and the dawn. They say in the darkest night there’s a light beyond.....”
Was never a fan of the show but one day was at a friends and he had that episode on and I wasn't paying attention and as soon I heard that song i was like "damn that's good"
You know the other song wouldn't let me do the comments but I'm going to say it on this one. I wonder what they got to do with the outfits they wore you know the like velvet outfits and all that stuff? Did they get to keep it is any of it in the Smithsonian? My thoughts are this I hope they are sent them off for charities because no one would else would be right wearing them number one. and number two they would bring a pretty penny for charities. The songs bring back good memories. Go partridges!
David Cassidy looked better on the series than he does today, I mean, I wonder if he did drugs after the show ended because he looks like it when you see him today as oppose to his Partridge days,
@gottselig2004 Yeah, I know; what I meant was, he ain't the finest looking dude around, obviously; but as he aged and cut his hair shorter and shorter, he looked even worse than he should have (in my opinion).
Shirley loved her son very much but David was fighting issues with his dad, jack Cassidy even then it hurts but David was more talented than his dad and his dad couldn’t cope with that and David paid the price for jack Cassidy’s price. He killed his own w!! That’s the bottom line. It’s sad and done!😅
