One can only be sovereign in the temporal sense that leads to destruction. The other is who is sovereign over all.

I disagree. It's what is revealed in the New Testament that reveals the new covenant from the Old Testament. Otherwise, why would you quote the New Testament that revealed what was hidden in the Old Testament?
