The biggest thing about his line patterns is all the chromatic forms that are in the lines. It helps pull your lines into melodic/ harmonic minor runs, and also bebop Scales in relative minor forms

Where I've always struggled with Pat's method is running these lines over alt V chords. It just never sounds right to me using them a half step up. A video on that in the future would be helpful.

I started with the Linear impressions book. Learned those formations or activities. I just repeated them over & over. And started seeing patterns and hearing phrases inside those formations. And almost magically the lines came up in my playing because they were absorbed naturally. That's when I realized I would be able to learn, play and understand Jazz vocabulary & Language. This really works! I'll try to get on the presale before it ends to complement my own studies.

Cool to hear. I've been practicing them for a while, and now when transcribing some grant green licks I realized how they fit into the formations. It made me realize that so much of bebop vocab are made of similar phrases but with different interesting rhythms and accents

At 4:20 you talk about a minor 251 in f relating to Bb Dorian. Is that because you consider the 1 chord (Fm) as the Vi chord from Ab major, hence Bb Dorian?

Hey guy, brush up on your basic music theory skills. The relative minor of B major is g# minor, not Ab minor. Enharmonic spellings do count.

Seems to be prevalent on the subject of playing guitar. Too bad aspiring guitarist have to wade through so much crap.
