Not only that dude went into a good situation which is important for any QB to succeed

But this is how humans think. They mindlessly switch their expectations, then act as if they always had those. AOC had a fine rookie season. Except compared to Stroud's. Aaron Rodgers should have been The QB Of His Generation. Except Tom Brady was prettier & won more playoff games despite playing worse so now it's impossible to get fans to acknowledge that better passing stats = better QB. But people still use them to put *down* QBs they _don't_ like.

Honestly, trade back try to get JJ and an elite WR and a good OT and at least the most important part would be done

He was never great as a rookie he was a manager that beat a bunch of bad and injured teams and got exposed towards the last quarter of the season. Hell most of their wins were in spite of him. He’s a bad QB with 0 talent get a clue

@@AintNoWayeDaniels will be 24 when the season ends. Aaron Rodgers didn’t become the full time starter until 25. Daniels will be fine.

@@BillyBob-ti2fz Why? When your roster is this bad especially on offense your young qb is more likely to become a bust rather than a franchise savior. Drake Maye/JJ McCarthy will have to be Mahomes/Allen levels of good to survive. Meanwhile MHJ is one of the greatest wr prospects we've seen and is basically a lock to become a Pro Bowl/All Pro level player. Also there are tons of qbs taken outside the top 10 who have become great qbs. Look at Lamar, Dak, Brock, Kirk, Love, Hurts, Geno, Russell and Carr. All at some point were playing at a high levels.

@@JordTheeNord because drafting a WR that high with no QB to throw him the ball is stupid. And literally all of those QBs you mentioned are ringless and none of them outside of maybe Jackson aren’t elite. Carr and Dak suck btw. They can literally draft a WR in the second round it’s common sense

@@BillyBob-ti2fz If you get the star receiver it's make things easier on your young qb. Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa all saw their production skyrocket after getting their star receiver. Russell aint ringless. Our very own Brady was a 6th round pick. And winning it all is a TEAM accolade. Not fair to pin that all on the qb. What they control is the offense and their offenses in their primes were scoring a ton of points.

The problem is there are no good QB prospects lined up for next season. Not getting one this year means not having one the year after, either. After they make up their general plans for this year good GMs look ahead. So they may not have realized this until really recently. Having said that, both Brissett & Zappe have played decently with poor receiving corps. So I really don't know what Mayo & Co. are thinking or are capable of doing with whatever roster they end up with. That makes it hard for We The Fans to know what moves they should make. Anyone here think even with a top WR they can make the playoffs with either of these QBs? Me neither. So maybe trading down is the best move. It's what I'd do in their shoes if I knew there'd be players to fill roster holes next year, but there isn't, not at QB anyway., but only maybe.
