Okay bahheee first things first I’ve gotten more compliments on my hoodie that has yoda smoking a bong on the back of it than I’ve gotten for anything elce ever love you but I am looking to get my first set of direct drive puddles my current double puddles a DW 5000 that I custom modified to have the Hill playi part of the footboard to give a 13 inch long foot boards for the longboard experience and I obviously love it so I didn’t switch it back, so would you recommend these or a pair of axis petals?
Hi Samus! Im a 12 year old Kid coming From Aruba and i just wanted to say you are the biggest inspiration why i started playing the Drums and Metal music. Been playing for around 5 months and im playing DT songs and i enjoy playing more challenging songs like Bleed. Just wanted to thank you for the motivation and as always Sex!
Not when you listen to everything else EXCEPT the bass drums! This is a very creative demonstration with literally every aspect I would question answered very concisely...GREAT job Samus!
You know a pedal is great when you take it right out of the box and it feels like home. You made them look so comfortable, like you've been using them for years!
Chuck and Karen sold Axis to a dickhead named Zed. He ripped me off when I ordered some replacement parts. These are quite appealing pedals. Definitely considering the switch.
Played them at my local drum store the other week, boi o boyyy these things are wicked, fast and so much smoother than demon drives. The speed I could hit without any effort and power & punch combined, just blew me away. Absolutely fantastic new pedals from Pearl ❤
I was sold on these since before they’re officially release and I was able to find a pair in Europe before they went retail in the US. My demon drives are now collecting dust and I’ll never go back to any other pedals because of these babies. I’m in love 🥰
My DW 5000 double pedal is over 20 years old now. They have been great and still in fantastic condition. It's time to upgrade though and i think these are the ones ❤
I have had the same crappy double pedals for like 15 years and really have been wanting to upgrade finally as I have been taking metal drumming very seriously lately... These might have to be the move when I can save up enough!
Pearl always delivers the fucking best gear for drumming, hands down!!! I have the demon chain but i switch the chain with a strap and broo, best pedal i ever had in my life!!
These look hella sexy! I bought my demon double pedals 8 years ago. My drumming wasn't anywhere near where I'd need pedals of that quality, but hot damn, those are the best pedals I've ever used.
Looks like great pedals. Yes the triggers definitely help. Direct drives are awesome. Chain has more lag than people notice. If you have fast feet, the double chain drive will not be able to keep up. I have some Derek Roddy Axis A21 Long boards that are killer! Would never go back to chains after playing with them. Right on man! Love your videos! 👊🏼👊🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
These would be the dream pedals for sure. I wound up getting a used set of Axis longboards for my first set, but will definitely be saving up for some of these to have on my new Pearl 8 piece kit. I'm one of those new drummers who shoot for very expensive first time gear pieces. A "buyhard," if you will. 🤙
Same here. I bought the originals back when they debuted in '09. Grabbed these when they came out as well and they are as advertised in my opinion. Just awesome.
Seems like both beaters on the double is a bit off center! GOOD!!! I really dont like pedals that has one dead center and one that is way off making super unbalanced sound
Darkness ! Imprisoning me ! All that I see ! Absolute horror ! I cannot live, I cannot die ! Trapped in myself, body my holding ceeeeeeell... Ooooooh yuuuuuurrr
Amazing audio, and promotion. Would love to see you use these for covering Trivium’s later work. Specifically The Sin And The Sentence, and What The Dead Men Say.
Thanks for this awesome vid man! If I ever do get a new pedal set in the future I was planning on the drumnetics magnet ones but now I’m torn 😅 I’ve always been a pearl guy and my original demon directs are still holding up great. Keep rocking on man 💥
I’m sure these are improved since I had a brand new pearl pedal had a spring snap in half right in the middle of playing Crazy Train. The look on our bass players face could have cut. Lead.
I really really love that pedal (and so don't wanna talk any bad about it). But what I still got to say is: after not even 2 months of occasional use (hobby drummer), both springs broke !! I mean the strong, standard springs. Already got new ones, but I was really shocked! I never saw any broken springs in my last 26 years of drumming. Hope the new ones will last longer 🙏 But - it's a great pedal and I still ❤ it. 🪇🪇🪇🤘🤘🤘✌️✌️✌️
I can remember when all pedals were direct drive... unfortunately thats were they will Wear out...id like a closer look at how thats connected...and it looks like only the top edge of the beaters is hitting the head...that will kill a bass drum head faster than anything.. i play pearl for a few reasons and the hardware durability is definitely one of them !! I'm thinking thats gonna be pretty good
I tested basically every direct drive pedal before buying one and I don't feel a big difference between them. The difference between a chain / belt pedal and a direct drive pedal is way more tangible than the differences within those those two categories. Just my opinion. I settled for the cheapest Trick pedal in the end which is absolutely fine (though I tweaked the tension rod a bit).
@66Samus I've heard that they are heavy! I just contacted my local music stores seeing if they will be receiving these so then I could try before buying. That's another reason I haven't bought the CK's yet too, can't try them!
I watched a double pedal shootout video a few weeks ago that complained that these (the original, not this sig model) lacked power without actually having read the manual about the cam options and other settings which adjust the power/finesse ratio.
