Technically the blueprint for Killzone is the Rambo film series. That makes Deadly Prey a script playing a script disguised as another script.

I've got it. The David A Pryorverse. It's all happening on some twisted and looped timeline. Each time they all remember just a little bit, but not enough to figure it out. Hence all the strange reactions and getting better at traps, but still falling to tropes!

When I was a kid my mom worked in a place that sold car parts, but they also had a shelf with movies that they rented out, so I could watch them for free. One of the movies was Kill Zone, i loved it. Iwatched it a few years ago again, this time i did not love it😂 The cover to the movie compared it to First Blood 🤣

If you notice, none of the weapons actually fire more than once in any one scene (they may try to fool you with sound effects, though). That's because they failed to equip their guns with blank firing adapters. You have to cock the gun every time you want to shoot. Also, the guy at the end is shooting an M1A, which is awesome.

I really needed this laugh today. My wife and I had to put down our 15 year old pomeranian Glitch on Friday 😢 We found out he had oral cancer in late June and we couldn't remove it due to his heart murmur. He was a great dog.

The next time Brain is on the show you should torture him by making him watch what is quite possibly the worst (and the very first) movie David A. Prior ever directed, Sledgehammer from 1983. Think a shot-on-video Things. It approaches that level of terrible. I sent you a copy about a year ago.

Immediately when I saw Hogan I was like "Wait, is he a Colonel? Is this the Deadly Prey backstory?" and it absolutely is. Also this makes me super mad the Deadly Prey negatives don't exist anymore, would be so sweet to have that movie in HD quality. Ever since I saw it I have the main theme as my phone ringing sound (the OST is on Prime, suprisingly. With hit tracks like "Danton looks at candy").

Gotta hand it to David A. Pryor, he knew what kind of movies he wanted to make and made them. (usually with the exact same actors every time) I mean budget-wise it's a smart choice: just a bunch of dudes running around in the jungle/forest and firing guns at each other. And there isn't any complex story stuff to get in the way of the death dealing. Plus that one guy chasing after the pick-up truck at 19:09 just killed me.

Love it when Dave is in the episode. Actually when you have the entire crew including off cam Pam those episodes rock. Obviously getting everyone together is difficult, but oh so worth it. Jason, stay away from Fort Leonard Wood, MI. There's a tick there that carries a rare disease that makes you vomit when you ingest hops or red meat. The chance of the lone star tick carrying it is low, but never zero.

This is David A Prior's Evil Dead and Deadly Prey is his Evil Dead 2 - basically the same movie but more budget. :) I'm guessing the lack of gore effects in the beginning was due to a lack of money so they had to save what they could afford to do until the end.

Killzone should be combined to make the “Deadly Prey” Trilogy; it would be perfectly fitting. This trilogy should be in the rank of Evil Dead and Mad Max: the first film is a serious, passionate project; the second one is a sequel of sort where the story is more or less the same but do it in the most outrageous way; and the last film is where they create with the same formula but with a bigger budget (or Hollywood-lize) or to please the fan base who admired the originals.

I'm glad you picked up on the very obvious Rambo soundtrack rip-off's (both of them.) But I noticed that they also ripped-off a track from Platoon, when Elias is being shot running away from the Vietcong. You can hear it at 6:17.
