I wholeheartedly loved it. Vera became Harley Quinn. NOT the Joker. 3:11 Full of imagination & love. Quality script, animation, sound, costume, makeup & acting. It was way better than a ton of B movies I’ve seen streaming or on Cable ala Lifetime or Halmark.

The point is one or the other isn’t enough. We’re all learning that “good guys” and “bad guys” are often the same “guys” - especially when they have authority over us and are ignorant, or willing & able to abuse that power. It’s sooooo much. I just love this film. Love it.

The last movie I saw in theaters was The Joker in 2019. I really enjoyed that movie and am glad I ended my theater experience on a high note. It’s a shame to see this abomination exist, but such is the state of modern Hollywood, which is why I refuse to return to theaters

Godzilla Minus One was pretty special. Poor Things was a treat for the eyes and Oppenheimer was extremely well-acted and scripted. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish I think is one of the century's best movies of any genre. For the most part, you have not missed much definitely are smarter for just staying at home. Those true great ones are hard to find from my experience.

I stopped trusting Rotten Tomatoes (critics AND audiences) some time after The Last Jedi. The most recent remake of "Shaft" has an audience rating of 94%. The only movies I can think of with a higher rating (off the top of my head) are Indiana Jones movies, Star Wars OT movies, and Godfather movies.

Using Rocky Horror as an example of what this movie might become "where people are going to be mocking it" is where I think I started understanding where these opinions were coming from. This movie wasn't made for you to be the intended audience it was made for people who feel othered the way Rocky Horror probably made you feel. I heard from people who were excited for this movie because they felt like the intended audience, I watched the preview and was excited for the idea and perspective, then the algorithm led me to this video and I'm disappointed in the algorithm. Heres a comment to help your metrics, I wish you could have experienced the love and excitement of a packed showing of Rocky Horror.

I am a straight man that would watch LGBTQ+ movies, the good ones are actually character driven, you may not relate to their sexuality but you relate with them as people. The bad LGBTQ+ movies are like other bad movies where they talk down to you and there is an air of narcissistic superiority or propaganda to them.

Gotta love a review from one guy that didn't even finish it and another guy that doesn't even realize the star worked on Tim & Eric and that Tim Heidecker himself does a voice in the movie. Absolutely zero research done here. I just saw it in a sold out theater and we all loved it. It's okay if you don't like it but don't pretend no one but gay people or the director herself can because "gay comedies aren't funny". Guess what? The target audience probably aligns with people that like Adult Swim's style of humor which isn't for everyone but it has nothing to do with it being a "gay comedy". I hope I'm not as out of touch with reality when I reach their age.

Gay comedy tends to rely too heavily on conflict with the supposed straight world. And that’s not very funny on its own. But I think popular gay and trans culture has anchored itself in a sort of contrarianism . So on some quasi anarchism level they think it’s funny, because they’re sticking it to the man

Damn. I was really hoping this would be a good bad movie. I'm a Lost Skeleton of Cadavera , MST3K, and original 60's Batman movie kinda guy and a self aware intentionally trashy trans Joker movie taking the piss out of comics and trans pop culture as a villian origin story had potential for cult comedy gold imho. But preachy does not go with funny.
