Back on march 4th, Martin got word that a local breeder may need help caring for his birds. This was the same breeder where Helen the Peregrine Falcon came from. On March 13th, Martin scooped up three Peregrine Falcons. Two were a breeder pair, and one was a younger female. All were settled into chambers at our rescue center as more details were learned and homes were sought out. Martin learned later that the original owner of the pair would care for them again. So he arranged to transport them to a new home. Martin also learned that the other female was actually Helen's Big Sister. Her future is still uncertain, but she will be under Martin's care as long as needed. Much more about Helen's Big Sis coming up! Restoring them to health and returning them to the wild is our primary goal. _Informing, Educating and Inspiring_ The SWF provides over 100 educational programs reaching over 30,000 people annually. We believe providing educational outreach programs to schools, scout groups and community events, with focus on children and families, will make the greatest impact in preserving our wildlife, the environment, our public lands and our resources for future generations to enjoy. _Martin Tyner_ Since age twelve, with a bird on his arm, Martin has captivated audiences sharing his knowledge and experience of his wildlife friends. At age nineteen, Martin was hired as curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, CA. He also worked in the movie and television industry training big cats, elephants, primates, sea mammals and raptors. “One of my greatest childhood fantasies was the desire to create a personal friendship with a wild eagle. I found myself with a love and fascination for these powerful creatures.” Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator. He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over fifty years. “Grandpa believed in a very simple philosophy; that a person should get up every morning and do good. Doing good means that you do well for others and doing well means that you do good for yourself. There is nothing wrong with doing well, but Grandpa always believed in doing good.”

🕊️🦅✌🏽🤲🏾🙏🏽❤️.... As a person who has spent years getting over on a phobia of birds... Due to a cousin fooling me up at 3 years old to pillage a bird's nest which I should have known better because we had chickens and I was never afraid of birds but that day getting attacked change something but I'm grateful to be getting over it... And watching your videos definitely help a lot you're definitely the "bird master".... We thank The Source for all the great work you do and continuing to inspire...🦅

Peregrines have long been my favorite birds. For more reasons than I can count. Magnificent animals. As a rock climber, I’ve had the privilege of seeing them up close in the wild many times. I even had one dive past me in a hunting “stoop” maybe 20-25 feet away while I was belaying on a ledge roughly 100 feet off the deck. This was a rare treat, although I have to assume it was unsuccessful because I didn’t see an explosion of feathers. And I had heard it’s nearby call a few seconds earlier, so I was on the lookout! It looked like a dark grey missile wizzing by. Insane.

Impressive the level of composure that Martin has in handling these Falcons that have not had much or any handling by humans. I had a pet RTH (female) as a boy and it took me a while to have enough composure to handle her without getting her all nervous to boot. It's pretty amazing under these circumstances that Martin doesn't use the hood. It would be hard for me not to freak out at the possibility of getting an eye poked out.

I was watching your video about the "Bald Eagle that wouldnt give up (or quit)". You mentioned that you believed that, based on your experience, the eagle was suffering from lead poisoning, I left a comment in regard to that but wasnt sure if youd see it since the vid was uploaded 5 yrs ago, so i thought it was worth posting the comment on this recent video too. I commented that you should consider a supplement of glutathione for birds with heavy metal poisoning, if not doing so already. It seeks out heavy metals in the body and binds to them after which they are flushed out as waste. Web search explanation: **Glutathione is critical for the detoxification of carcinogens such as benzene (commonly found in automotive exhaust), heavy metals such as MERCURY, cadmium and LEAD, and common chemicals such as BPA. Remember also, that if there is an increased exposure to environmental chemicals, the demand for glutathione synthesis increases.

Just a heads up, if you want to raise a lot of money quickly to support your noble efforts: host a live chat, which allows people to send “superchats” (money + a question or just a note saying “thank you for work.”) I’ve seen other channels do this and it is not uncommon for them to raise $1,000+ per 30 mins, especially once they do it once per week or month at the same day and time and people are expecting it.
