I've always wanted to enjoy building a gundam kit similar to how the majority of gunpla fans do, but I never really found myself enjoying the build. It is certainly fun to know that you've build a complete mech suit from only a few runners, and It really is a calming experience, but...it's never captivated me. The thing I enjoy the most about the gunpla kits I own are their ability to be posed. I absolutely adore being able to get them in a certain position that's badass and just looks appealing. This kind of a model might be something for me :) Anyone out there feel the same?

i love building but there are times when i feel burnout and want to just play and pose and take pictures. I buy some robot spirits for that purpose, but their pricing hurts me more than my gunpla building burnout. There are cheaper options ofc like the Gundam Universe line but they're not as good as a robot spirit or even gunpla in terms of posability. So then I always come back to Gunpla.

Unless you like kit bashing and painting, these metal robot spirits are always better than your standard gunpla builds. We need more of these and I'm glad these are getting more popular.

This, in my opinion, shouldn't be compared to models. These are also astronomically expensive compared to a $20 kit.

As someone who builds Gunpla for the build process itself, I'm not really interested in things like Metal Build or Universe figures. I'll admit they're super cool looking and more power to everyone interested in these kinds of things. It's just not my cup of tea.

except that these are like 6-10 times more expensive than their HG counterpart. theres also the feeling of accomplishment when u finish your model kits, even when its just a straight build

Bael Gundam is such an underrated gundam cuz it short appearance in the IBO series (even in Build Driver it suffer shame quick-lost... If it appear in the early-middle episode (around 10-12) I guess it can be the most threatening enemies in the series... It one of my favourite Gundam unit (Lupus Rex being badass and like berserker type, while Bael in a cool and speed type)

Sure, Metal Builds (and Metal Robots) are usually better than their model kit counterparts, but what really sells this Bael for me are the design and the proportions. The MS looked so aggressive in the anime but, unlike with Barbatos, the HG kit totally failed to capture that vibe. You need to customize it heavily if you want that pointy, savage look. Which is a shame because both HG Barbatos Lupus and Rex pretty accurately capture the feel of a "demonic gundam". Meanwhile this Metal Build gives off said vibe instantly. Too bad it's completely outside my price range. And the size is also wrong for my collection. It'll be a few decades until we get a HG Bael 2.0 but I'm looking forward to it. lol

I was gonna say that they haven’t done a metal robot spirits and then a metal build, but they actually have recently with the Justice Gundam, and they plan to do the providence gundam I believe. For the rest of the seed/seed destiny and the one 00 metal robot spirits figures, they came out after their respective metal builds, and they’re continuing with the IBO metal robot spirits with Kimaris Vidar. I can respect waiting for them, but if you do want to get them before that, and having collected all of them so far I definitely recommend, I suggest using Mandarake to buy them as it’s much cheaper than eBay sellers, and depending on shipping it can be cheaper than local hobby/figure stores :)

i bought $36 single blade nippers by Trumpeter from local store and just saw ebay for $22 and they slice the plastic. if they start to crush i sharpen. even dropped them 3 times in about 10 kits. and cut sprue. clear sprue very slowly. its the jaw thickness thats amazing in this class. i will buy godhands one day though because i want to know how they feel after the differnce these made.
