The other two blood orange varieties we have at my grandparents orchard are the Shahani red navel and Smith red Valencia. My grafts are about 2 or 3 years old now and should start producing next year if they don't this season!
Hello I'm new to citrus and been following your videos on citrus for a while. I have white flies infestation on my citrus I'm using insecticidal soap but they return
Read the description below the video. It states the company does not make them anymore. However, they make the 25g which are great from growing dwarf and semi dwarf trees. Please do not use grow bags, these trees grow vigorously and need space, and grow bags do not allow them to be easily portable and they become to waterbound an dheavy.
Hey Elder. Hope all is well. This heat is crazy! I spoke with u about a year or 2 ago when I first started gardening. Idk if u remember me but I’m from The City (SF) and now in the foothills above u trying to grow my family’s food. Well, I messed up and watered my container Page mandarin too much this spring so now I have sap coming out at the graft point. Some videos from UCIPM say it phytophthora root and crown rot. My 3yo tree is in a 25 gal pot. 1st year I got Numerous fruit set. and leaves are mostly green. Some are sun burnt from this heat wave so I put it under a shade cloth for now. I sprayed captain jacks fungicide on the base of the trunk and graft line about a week ago. Sap is still coming out. Since ur the expert I thought u could help with what to do. Should I re-pot it in new soil? Spray the roots with a low bleach/water solution? Keep applying capt jacks? I really wanna save my tree if possible. It’s devastating to waste 3 years to have to start over with a new tree. Any tips for the rookie here?
Please watch my citrus playlist to learn how to care for your citrus. Also yes it is roo rot and you may or may nor have killed your tree. Take it out of container, cut off bad roots and replant. You can also opt to add 2 tablespoons of baking soda to 1 gallon of water to neutralize activity in the soil. Always remove any fruit from the tree for the first 2-3 years. Thank you
@@elderyehudahwatchmanoftheg8425 is the baking soda a 1 time thing or multiple times? I’ll rewatch the playlist since I don’t remember anything about treating diseases. Thank u!
