Thanks for the information. Something I did not get: does the employer also have to pay half of your sick leave pay?

The employer pays 50% of the health insurance premium (including sick leave pay).

Once you retire with public you still pay 14% but with private you still need to pay 620€/month ?

Thank you for sharing. You mentioned that entry age matters. What if you want to switch to another private insurance 10 or 20 years from now? Do you get reassessed for a higher premium considering the health issues and risk increases over last years?

Very good question. You have 2 options: The preferred option is to switch to a different plan within the same insurance company. That's why we keep mentioning how important it is to choose a good insurance company in the first place. The other option is to switch to a different insurance company which involves health questions and a new entry age.
