I would suggest applying to soaking wet hair and emulsifying the product more. You may be using too much! Emulsifying and soaking wet hair should help with that, assuming your hair is properly cleansed first

@@Laysplace23 Thank you. I felt like it wasn't holding my hair enough because of the texture. Does it work well in winter? And what leave in have you tried it with?

@@Carpathianpixie it’s a humectant gel so you don’t need anything u see it. But I am not a leavein natural because I don’t need it, typically. Doesn’t add moisture and doesn’t add hold. So I might not be the one to ask about that one haha. And I tend to use more of the humectant gel in the winter than I do the summer but I use the same products; just apply differently. I don’t necessarily use curl maker but because it’s more humectant it pulls moisture into the hair. The humectant base that I use is uncle funkys daughter curly magic but I top it with another product. So in the winter, I would use more of the hlectant base and less of the anti humectant topper and in summer less of the humectant base gel and more of the anti humectant. Hope that’s helpful!

@@Laysplace23 I live in Canada so winter here is very dry, I am apprehensive about using it now because I don't want the air to leech the moisture from my hair. And I can't NOT use a leave in. What do you use on top of the uncle funky's gel?

@@Carpathianpixie I’m from Cleveland and it’s brutal as well! So the humectant gel adds moisture from the air. It depends on how often you wash. I don’t expect my hair to be moisturized past 5-7 days. I also follow black girl curls so I understand moisturizing to happen only with proper cleansing and then the moisture is sealed with conditioner so we may not be operating from the same hair care philosophies. But anywho, I do top with innersense I create hold, or the doux pop lock to name a few
