Wacom tablet, iPad USB dongle for extra ports, wireless charging mat for phone/ watch/ etc., Plantronics wireless noise cancellation headphones for meetings & music, braided cord power strip that coils compactly for everything. Thanks for the video. Nice gear. I have always carried my equipment in insulated boxes like the ones you take to a barbecue. We call them Esky's in Australia. I put foam cutouts in them to suit my cameras. I have been doing that since the 1960's and never had anything stolen. The Esky is in a place in my van that can not be seen from the outside. I carry my BMPCC 6K rig in an Esky nowadays without having to dismantle it. Works well.

I’ve gone the exact opposite to your keyboard and mouse set up. Logitech MX Keys for Mac keyboard and the space grey Magic Mouse. The MX Keys for Mac is superbly made and has 3 different quick settings so I can type between Mac, iPad Pro and iPad and the push of a button. Very cool imo

There’s something that I love about my set up, that I didn’t notice you mention. I do way too much Internet calling. I also need to listen to what’s going on on my computer while I’m Internet calling. And I don’t want to sound bleeding through. I love the Jabra speak 510. It’s a nice circular speaker that can pick me up anywhere I’m in the room, and it has a microphone, and the cable just winds up inside it so it’s easy to throw in a bag

I just ordered my first Macbook ever. M1 Macbook Air 16GB, 512GB. The accessories I already have: 1. Computer Table, very basic. 2. Table cloth, cotton. 3. Belkin 8-way surge protector. 4. Hi! Great to have you on the dark side (or, white) of the PC world, hehe! Same here! It’s been a beautiful experience working with the M1 Macbook. There have been certain additions to the list here. I got a deskpad from Dailyobjects, it’s really well made and gives a clean look (even tho, the desk is often filled with stuff 🙈) Got the laptop stand from Dailyobjects, it’s sleek, attaches itself to the laptop (double sided tape) and is really comfortable to use, Changed mouse to Logitech MXmaster 3, you should get this one, it’s awesome! Sleeve, I didn’t get as of now, using rucksack with laptop compartment for travelling Ordered one tech kit organiser, again from Dailyobjects 🙈 Got usb hub from Hyperdrive, it’s nice, connects to both the ports directly, so, no wires, cleaner, Didn’t get the icons skin, got a wood finish one I work as a Graphic Designer, Interning several jobs, learning video editing, motion graphics and uiUX I want to pursue Masters in Interaction Design soon :)

I've been watching a few of your videos since december 2020 since i've been waiting for mig MacBook Pro with the M1 chip 16 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. I wanted to learn more about the computer and your channel has been so helpful with that and confirmed I made the right choice (unfortunately I still haven't received mine just yet - 4 weeks has turned into 9-12 weeks depending on when it arrives). I have to say I love your videos and the energy you put into it - it's clear that you are passionate about with which is why you have become my favourite RU-vidr in such a short time. The intro is honestly always the best! Normally I don't comment, but I really have to this time because your videos are really good and so helpful. I'd love it if you at one point would make a video about a day with the MacBook Pro - I'm really looking forward to mine and watching these videos makes me so excited for it, but also makes the wait bearable. Hey there, for backup / archive / cold storage, have you considered a Synology NAS? I've found that using those for a home network and connecting via SMB / Finder is a fantastic workflow, and you have the redundancy built in.

Hi! Great videos, you won a solid subscriber. Anyways I wanted to ask you a question, I’m starting to study programming, I hope to be a developer in the next 2 to 3 years or so, but I’m not sure about the m1 processor (because of compatibility issues)….so…i have 2 options, either get a MacBook Pro 15 inch 2015 with amd graphics, or the m1 mb air…the pros on the 2015 is that I can install bootcamp (is that necessary for programming? And the con is that the m1 it’s much newer and capable in terms of raw performance…but would i still be fine with the 2015? I like the bigger screen………and the better port selection (easy “fixable” with a dongle in the m1)….do you have any advice for this “issue”? Thank you in advance!!!!

I noticed with my old 2018 MacBook pro, that when keeping it upright for prolonged periods of time, there started to appear a yellowish section towards the side of the screen, almost as if there was liquid inside the screen which was drawn down to the side. Do you not have this issue with yours?

A question! Hope you answer... I bought MacBook Air 13 with 16GB M1 chip, you said in the video you calibrated your external monitor, I do photography professionally and I have XRITE i1Studio calibration system for Monitor and printing, and currently its not supported for the M1 chips or bigsur, how do you calibrate your monitor or with what hardware you do it? I contacted XRITE and its going to take a while for them to release a solution, I haven’t been able to properly edit or print with the new laptop so its basically just sitting there running Netflix, thanks in advanced

I'm also running the Logitech MX Master 3 with my M1 Macbook Pro, but I can't help to notice sometimes there will be a latency/delay of response with the mouse pointer while connected via bluetooth. Has this occured to you before?

I got my Macbook Pro M1 on order (April delivery) - and it's weird, I already have some of this stuff so good choices! ;) I have the hub, the Rav Power brick, MX Master Mouse, Samsung SSDs and even the Pebble mouse, however, I don't use that as I upgraded to the MX Anywhere mouse which is essentially a mini MX master mouse, it's not cheap but it's great so you should check it out!

First of all, this channel is great. And I take almost all his recommendations. And about the bag, I bought the same exact bag on Amazon before traveling and I swear someone broke my car window to steal it along with my Mac, the Samsung ssd, the Mac pouch, the dongle, the mx master 3 last month while I was traveling. It’s almost funny but it’s not. This isn’t to say that his advice doesn’t work, it’s just to say that you should be walking with your bag attached to your body, and have a small tracking device stitched to the inside of your bag and/or laptop sleeve so you can track them. That could save you thousands, and a lot of heartaches 😩

Orr, for the love of God, hide your bag under the car seats or in the trunk. I'm sorry to say but this but that's your fault for having your bag right there in the open of your car for people to see. What I do is either hide it under my car seats or if I'm in a rush I put a blanket over it. Haven't had a break-in yet. Maybe I'm wrong and you did hide it but those tips alone can save you thousands and a headache.

I just got a 16" 1pro and I need an external SSD to edit short projects-mostly 1080p or 4k from a Sony a6400/a7iii so nothing too heavy really...I connected the M1pro to my thunderbolt 2 Lacie 20TB and it works fine (with the adapter) but I need something reliable and on the cheap side to edit on location-short videos- Same day edit or so...I found this: SanDisk 2TB Extreme Portable SSD - Up to 1050MB/s - USB-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2 -will this work with my M1pro to edit with Premiere Pro? Rendering in4k H.264 will be fine? This one looks affordable...thanks!

Is the Caldigit not causing the MB M1 to brick? I've read a lot of threads online that some of the usb hubs have been bricking some units :( It's something that prevents me from buying an M1 and still holding on to my MBP coz I'm very dependent on my usb hub (Baseus 16-in-1)

Time machine is not for saving data. Time machine is ONLY for backing up whatever drive you save your data TO. Saving data on a drive is a function of EACH application that you use, not the operating system of the machine itself. Deciding in each application WHERE you want to save your data is up to you. THEN tell Time Machine to back up that drive also.

The M1 MacBooks are the devices who can be called perfect (at least 99.95%). I absolutely love my M1 Air. It is fast, looks great, has a very good battery and the trackpad is the best I've ever seen and used. So far the only 3 little things I don't like are: Some apps are not avaiable (yet) and sometimes my Mouse just disappears (in Safari) and scrolling in Safari is laggy sometimes. But other from that I fell in love with that device👍👍👍 Great Video btw😂👍👌

When you attach an external disk, do you still need to eject before disconnecting the docking station from your Mac?

Yes. The external disks need to get that signal to disconnect (mechanically), "park and secure" the drive heads so they do not crash into the disk platters, and then go into a disconnected "mode" or "state". Yanking the cable shuts down power to do that first. SSD drives "should be" respected in a similar way for a similar but different reason.

I wish Apple make new mouse cause I think I can work with one click mouse but Magic Mouse 2 ain’t it I heard…also did you ever used MX Anywhere 3 before? I consider to buy that one but still conflicted.
