I love how the problems in the mainline Chibi-Robo games are so real. You're either helping to repair a failing marriage and comforting a traumatized daughter, or you're helping a widow find closure in the early death of her fiancee and showing her son that it's selfish to forbid his mom from searching for new love because he misses the dad he hardly knew. What a franchise.
fr... this okaeri chibi robo (aka clean sweep) was perfect sequel. it's way better than flower ds one NGL. I'd say it's upgraded version of OG GC chibi robo.
I never thought about how different the mood of the game was before; that was a good point! It definitely gave Clean Sweep its own identity, without changing the fundamentals of the game (Zip Lash........)
This game looks great for an original DS game! The textures are fairly detailed and the environments are pretty large and full of nice little touches. I think the thing I'm most impressed by (at least in terms of the first and third games) is how mature and emotional the plots can get. There's some pretty heavy stuff in these games and I would never expect a game published by such a big company (especially not Nintendo!) to tackle things like parental disputes (and potential divorce!) or a small family facing money problems and struggling to get by. And what's really incredible is how they handle these topics in a serious manner while still delivering on the classic Nintendo charm (and the games aren't even developed in-house by Nintendo!). I've recently gotten a better PC... er... I mean A Very Legit And Power Nintendo Console that can emula- er... I mean play these classic titles after I totally bought them off of Ebay for $70, so I'm excited to give them a chance (at least the first and second ones). Great videos, man!
The start of the game shows the ruins of the family's house from the first Chibi Robo, which burned down. Chibi is lost and forgotten and powered down. It's a grim start to the game but it helps explain why Jenny is living in squalor.
there is just something I love about how because chibi robo did so much for Jenny and her family, her solution to her family’s problems is to get another chibi robo and he also does his best to help Jenny. They have a cute and heartwarming dynamic. I do have to wonder what happen to the original chibi robo and Jenny’s parents though.
Ngl I relate to the "over used" single mom trope as I myself am an only child of a single mom and I relate to this game emensly because not only am I an only child and a son but also grew up in poverty Edit 6:49 NOOOO I HAVEN'T GOTTEN THERE YET, save for later SAVE FOR LATER
I always thought it would be interesting if in a new pikmin game; if they ever stranded the player on the planet and removed the ship. They have the 2nd or 3rd playable captain be a long abandoned chibi Robo. An that's what you use to carry ship parts, fruit, treasure, etc..
Would absolutely love to see you do a walkthrough or a stream of “Chibbi” Robo Clean Sweep - such a fan of the series it destroys me that I can’t play or even at the very least see this one!
I found a custom cartridge English fan translation of this game on eBay for $29. You can totally play this game in English if you have an original DS or DS Lite. DSi-2DSXL will not be able to play it. I bought a Japanese copy of the original game to somewhat justify the pirated version, even though none of the proceeds go to Nintendo at this point.
@@nintendrew87 idiot thats just a ds flashcart that automatically turns on the english fan translation, just search up chibi robo clean sweep fan translation on github and you'll see that you have been scammed. it doesnt work on dsi or 3ds because they got updates that blocked flashcarts
Hey,thanks for the video. This is my #3 favorite game and I barely saw any content about it on youtube. Patched the week the translation got out and invested more than 30 hours in it, it's so good. Arguably the best full 3D game on NDS. +1 sub
The sad thing about New Play Control: Chibi-Robo is that the New Play Control line as a whole didn't do well commercially, as made evident by how short its run is and how few games make up the line.
you know i imagined a game where 5 family's bought a chibi station and each houses had its own problem like the first house being a rich house meaning they have people doing the cleaning for them witch that would be easy it would have most of tools other games had give or take but the last house have so many problems that chibi would have to fix but i really want this to happen where the fan base makes the next installment like in Little big Planet restitched lets hope. also great vid
I had a similar idea lol. However, instead of multiple houses just make an apartment complex with multiple residents( maybe four or five). Maybe have one of them be a loner who's too depressed to clean or tidy up. Have him buy Chibi Robo and as the game progresses you meet other families/people in the apartment and just help improve the atmosphere. Maybe as extra endgame content make one of the residents be a housekeeper or baby/dogsitter and you can hitch a ride to the new house they work at and now you have a whole new location to take care of. What would be really interesting is having a Chibi Robo competitor or knockoff that's hinted at throughout the game and when you get to the new house they have one, but it's bad at it's job and you help it learn to be a better cleaner
How are you able to get the game running so smoothly in English? I thought it was for emulation only. Were you able to rip a English patched version off the computer?
is there a way to obtain an English physical version of this game? I remember seeing an English version on eBay but it’s no longer there. IDK, maybe I mistook it for Park Patrol.
Honestly I think it’s so cute that this is the same Chibi Robo and little girl, just all grown up, from the first game. Makes it feel like this little robot is really a part of this particular family, and not just another tool or appliance. I just don’t understand why some companies would just self sabotage their own products or IPs like Nintendo has with Chibi Robo. No Wii port of the original outside of Japan, and no localization of the direct sequel on the DS. Maybe it’s bad blood between developers and publisher that cause these decisions to be made, but it’s really unfortunate for the fans and everyone else involved in the creative process. As a fan of the original, I would’ve loved this DS sequel as a kid.
9:31, I commend the person who pulled that drawing off, writing with a stylus is such a pain in the ass that seeing someone make full on art with it is just so cool.
@@ch-zn1is "should've been". Also, I bought 3DS in 2022 and I don't regret it. Hundreds of games to play. And since the games aren't being sold anymore, modding it will be the only way to play.
is not the same robot, chibi-robo is a franchise of cleaning and helping units that sell in households, is like a robot maid per se, there's a lot of them and they just call them like their main brand "chibi-robo" this one is a different, this family went and bought one and you just happen to play this one form his point of view. I would really want to know what happen to the first one, because jenny reffers him as "chibi robo 2", because she remembers the first one from his childhood memories aka the first game
@@JuanR0d Yeah, and it wouldn't have been really fun if you played as the already-leveled up Chibi-Robo in the second game. The fun is in leveling him up and getting better.
Man, this is such an awesome game! Satisfying and engaging. I am nearing the end. I wish Nintendo released more Chibi-Robo games. You know there are hundreds of thousands of Chibi-Robos so I don't think they would run out of ideas anytime soon.
Awesome video! I have been looking for a video talking about this game, and its nice to see someone covering it. The games looks great. and also thanks for linking the fan translation! :)
