That's a great storage solution ! We do the same with racing carts. Edit: Why is everyone so worried about the sleds dropping on their heads ? Look it up, for snowmobiles dropping and killing you, your chance of dying from a vending machine killing you is greater.
@@seangagne1895 I moved and keep my sled in another situation but the 2 x10 was about 3 feet long with a 1 inch hole bored about 2 inches from each end. I had the 2x10 flat against ths pan that supports the front end. keeping pressure off the suspension.
At 450 pounds at that height, if it fell, it would most certainly kill your ass or make you wish you were dead if you survived! It is not only 450 pounds but at a velocity compounding the force. This is a bad idea all around and being a HD mechanic for a number of years I have not only seen or heard of the results of a suspended load falling and killing somebody, simply because an individual was standing or walking under a suspended load which is strictly forbidden, along with a lifting device failure as well. For something like this to be safe there has to be a safety device UNDER the sled SECURELY LOCKED IN PLACE after being lifted! All it would take is one of the lifting devices on this suspended load to break and 💥. Make sure your liability and life insurance is up to date!
Paul Lunney there are girder trusses on each side of the openings to hold the weight. Rated for 1500lbs per opening. I used princess auto hoist winches.
@@hworkmaniv88 Yes, girder trusses on each side of opening and 2 in between with extra postings to hold them. Fully engineered and can hold 1500lbs in each bay.
I really hope whatever is holding that load was designed by a structural engineer for your local code. Either way you couldn’t pay me to use the space below those!
ok, you park your truck under that. sure its a great solution to get it onto your sled deck but also dumb because your gonna have to figure out how to drive it up onto the sled deck anyways.
This was engineered to get the sleds off the floor for storage and the bonus is that they can drop right onto a sled deck. I use my deck ramps any other time.
