Hi Eli, I have a quick question. I just tried this setup with my friend, using a clamshell reflector, ad400pro and an 85cm Softbox, c stand with boom arm as opposed to the shorty extension arm. But, I couldn't seem to get much light on the top of his head until I used an ad200pro and bounced the light from the ceiling straight down. Is there anything I can to make it so I don't need a second light in order to light up the hair on the top of the head?

Get the light higher and if that doesn't give you enough, slightly tilt the light more towards the model/backdrop instead of toward the floor and reflector. Finding the right balance between the two will depend on the space you have available and the power of the light.

If it’s whole body shoot does the reflector still come into play? Our just key light and behind the subject light for the background?

You could but you would need to lower your shutter speed to measure the ambient.

WHERE WERE YOU TO TELL ME ABOUT THE WESTCOTT SHORTY EXTENSION ARM WHEN I SPENT $159 FOR MY C-STAND LAST YEAR?!!? That's ok, Amazon screwed up the delivery, 10 days late and refunded me....1-DAY BEFORE IT WAS DELIVERD!!!! Can you say, "FREE C-STAND"?!!? Thx, my Shorty Arm is on it's way...TWO OF THEM!
