Tim Elphick sure thing! so rating photos in camera is way quicker versus rating them in lightroom because of the amount of time it takes for each photo to load (assuming you shot in RAW format) in lightroom. if you load like 1200 photos in lightroom, through my experience, it can take like 3seconds for each one to load. imagine having to go through over 1000 of those bad boys. and if you know there’s a burst of photos you took that didn’t look good, skipping dozens of photos can again cause lightroom to lag up a bit. now - this could be the speed of my external, could be the speed of my computer, even though i’m pretty sure my gear is solid; regardless, your camera will never lag when you rate photos there instead. the only con is maybe not seeing the quality on a giant screen? but even then, if you’re using a decent camera, the quality still shows up well. maybe give it a try and see if you like it? also - if you only take like less than 100 photos that you’re importing, rating in camera doesn’t necessarily become a HUGE factor in difference. it’s only for times of shooting a mass amount of pictures. if i only have like 20 photos to dump i don’t bother rating them cause i already know which ones i’m gonna edit. hope that helped i know that was a long answer lol.
