Think you guys are awesome but mastic shouldn't be used in a shower, whatever the bucket says. Water can break it down and it can grow mold. Thinset is cheaper, easier to work with, easier to clean up and wont grow mold. You will save by taking the time to mix actual thinset instead of using mastic.

The more I watch Perkins Brothers Builders and Ray/Jay Builder Buddies not only have I been entertained, I’m learning more “tricks of the trade”. And I ask myself why did I get out of construction and become a teacher? I had some good times with the crews I worked with. And you guys are the best. Man that cell tower is much needed. That was always one of the things I hated most when down there to run the Dragon. No cell coverage. You could drive around for miles trying to find someone’s WiFi to steal.

@@andrewschafer8986 that was purely a guess from a dyi guy that has used something that looks like it. The brand name is actually Mapie and the product I used is AquaDefense. It's a fluid applied waterproofing and crack isolation membrane.

@@timothydillon6421 yeah yeah rock on. I have used many Mapie products never used a premixed thin set though. I have used Aquadefense as well. I like it too. I moved into schluter systems more recently.
