Peter Kay reveals, in his latest book, that only he, the director and the camera-man knew he was going to flip and explode the way he does, hence the reactions on the faces of the people in the queue. The scene was supposed to cut before he tosses the ice cream over the woman, before he decided to have a meltdown and destroy anything he could get his hands on.
"I'd like some ice cream with me coney" In all seriousness though, this scene's made me so glad that I no longer work in customer service or catering. Had I continued with those, I'd've been destroyed mentally, probably worse than poor old Softy-Top.
I love the bit when he throws ice cream at this woman and says to camera, "FUCK OFF!" and then throws cornets at the camera and then throws cameraman out and says, "FUCKING DON'T NEED THIS!" and then starts wrecking things shouting, "BASTARD!" It has me in stitches.
