I've heard the Black Forest is beautiful! You know, there's a little place south of this mountain about 20 miles that is called Little Switzerland, in North Carolina. It was named so because they thought it resembled the foothills of the Alps there.

That's a great reading and cinematography too. About Roan, I wonder is it so called like the kind of mottled texture/color that you can get on the coats of horses? (and some dogs and antelope and possibly other animals too)

Thanks my friend! There are 2 reasons why it is called Roan, but not sure which one is correct to be honest. One is when the rhododendron blooms in June, and the mountain ash berries appear in September that makes it have a reddish tent to the mountains mixed with the greenery of the the grass and evergreens from a distance, sort of a roan pattern like the horse. The other is that Daniel Boone had a roan horse that he rode, he is alleged to have been to the mountain several times.

Yes I have heard of the Banshees before lol, they were in a book of mythological creatures I had when I was a kid. And I certainly have heard of Donnie Laws, I love his videos lol. He is also an East Tennesseean! Thanks for stoppin by again Mr. Ohwell, hope youns are doing good over there!

I know a lot of mountain people like to call themselves “Christian”, but quite often their ol pagan beliefs weaved in with their Christian beliefs, the spirits , the curses the myths it’s all paganism mixed into their Christianity.

@@southernnordic7027 No I haven’t heard of it. I myself am not from Appalachia , but I have a number of friends from there and have visited numerous times and while no longer Christian myself I know the things they mix in is not Christian
