The Philosophy of Friendship - Hunter X Hunter (Gon and Killua) 

Man the part about small community’s vs internet friends is so true. Its too easy nowadays to bring those habits that form online relationships into irl. Its a mistake that I’ve actively been trying to fix for a few months now.

I know Gon was the main character of the series, but it really felt like their friendship was the focus. Without them together, the show wouldn’t be the same. This really is my favorite anime friendship and I hope that one day they will reunite in the story

This reminds me of how we always gain a fraction of someone's true personality via online interactions & projections. Regardless of positive or negative, it's the people you live life with that truly make an impact and stand out more than otherwise and I'm really lucky I have several people, & particularly at least 2 since kindergarten, I can call best friends & all 3 of us understand, value & admire our friendship even without saying anything regarding it, especially when all 3 of us have plenty of stuff we agree on but also stuff we disagree on & fought different battles to get where we are and support each other in numerous ways. And seeing similar friendships pan out like Gon & Killua, Luffy, Ace & Sabo, Luffy & Usopp, Simon and Kamina, Finn and Jake, etc. are always a treat & feel both entertaining and enlightening, whether for people unaware of the scope, meaning and general sphere of true friends, or as a reminder for those who do, on top of just being fun to watch two bros elevate each other physically, spiritually, mentally & emotionally in multiple ways over the story. For Gon & Killua, it's one of the biggest reasons why Hunter X Hunter's so fantastic, both characters are just well established and written, but they bounce off and complement each other so well that that complements their individual characters and arcs as well. Great video, brother. Given me something to reflect about and appreciate a little more.

This is a great video essay, spurred quite a bit of thought from me. From the perspective of having two of my closest friends be offline and online respectively, rather than saying online ones don't fully reach the same peaks, I'd say they're much harder to find and develop instead. Although of course a lot of things are still exclusive, I'd just say that means you have less options for developing the relationship, which does mean it varies a lot based on who you are and if you would've chosen those options regardless. Also on one hand I agree with the sentiment that having to find someone with your interests while in a group that doesn't share them helps to develop a stronger bond and start a fire, I still think most if not all large communities have enough to them that people will still find their niches to bond over on an individual level (again, still harder and more inconsistent than in person typically), as with the size of the community grows the amount of subcommunities and individual attributes to bond over. Although I suppose as someone whose main communities have been gaming ones where it's easily divided into subcommunities such as character main or a server for a specific minecraft mod I'm pretty biased, I shouldn't take for granted that gaming goes hand in hand with online relationships, it's pretty much the main thing to do online alongside making and sharing forms of art (art being a very loose term here, pretty much anything someone makes that can be shown off), without one of those it'd definitely be worse. It's also very possible with how much social media has grown even more especially with communities for influencers and such, this sort of thing is way different from when I was growing up even if I was still on the internet a ton.

Your videos never fail to entertain and bring about some reflection for me! Love it, even if I may not 100% agree with how you explained all of your thoughts I really hope your channel blows up soon cause I'm sure a lot more people would really enjoy your content! Keep up the good work, man!

I agree with much of what you said here. But somethings I do disagree with. A close friendship can be close enough where they do miss each other deeply when separated without it being romantic. It also is important to note that there are different types of friendship. The highest kind isn't just to complete some goal together. Instead, as with any relationship, there is a deep connection between the two people which goes beyond the goal. Yes, sometimes friends need to part, but the deepest kinds of friendship don't end in departure just because a common goal has been reached. I also think that friendship is even more important that romantic love. Why? Because if one does not know how to be a friend then he can't know how to be a good husband. There are people who abandon their companions as soon as they start dating. You can tell that their dating relationships won't last long because they only valued their friends as people to hangout with until they started dating. Friendship is necessary in all aspects of life. And in the Christian perspective, friendship is one relationship that lasts even into Heaven itself, whereas marriage ends at death.

very good video but I don't agree with the end of the video... You said that Friendship can be summarize like that : Friends add smth to each other and then, when their goal no longer coincides, they can go by their side and stop being friend as if friendship was such an egoist thing and that even the closest friend could be replaced without any regret... In hunter X hunter, Killua say that now alluka count more for him than gon and he won't continue to follow him just because Bisket said that if he looses the fight against Shoot, he could no longer be Gon's friend.. not because he reached the goal and we can even see at the end of the anime that they don't wanna leave each other... (My english isn't perfect, I hope you understood what I wanted to say)

Bro It's True But They Should Meet Again Cause They Left Together But Still They Have A Very Deep Feeling For Themselves . Gon Wants to Apologise Killua And Killua , He Just Want To Stay With Gon . It Make Sense , Gon Heal Killua Physiologically And Killua Heal Gon Physically But THEY Don't Heal Themselves As A Fath but They Did This Cause Friend Are Made For Each Other . Personally I Think They Will Meet Again And They Should Stay Together Again

Ive been skipping your videos because mostly they aren’t from series I watched. I agree with you on the internet friends. Ive had a close male friendship bond but I lost it. I have made new friends since losing him and I would die to get a close bond again.

Gon and killua is such an great friendship. Funny moments, laughs and happiness. Gon was the light for Killua in his dark world, but through the story did Killua went in the chimera ant arc further into the light while Gon developed showing his true inner dark side. After all it was the moment pointing out that Killua was Gons light the whole time, but unlike Gon who saved Killua from his dark path couldn't Killua save Gon from his dark path. At least was Killua able to save Gon from death and their friendship is still strong but after the events of chinera ant was it never the same.

Amazing video. Still I don't think that Killuas and Gones friendship is not little on edge of love. This gives specially realistic characteristics to Killua - not knowing what to do with friend; little confused. So I am not killuagone fan, instead I love that Togashi balanced the confusion with real friendship.😂 Still I am talking about friendship and I didn't have any special connection myself so... 😂
