@@Pimp_Shrimp Lists, which include LotD, need to be built around it. There are plenty already. In my opinion, LotD is too intrusive and makes you work around it for too much.
@@dragonblame That's a good point! I'm not sure I could personally live without LotD because I just love collecting all the unique things and displaying them in Elder Scrolls but still - great work because it looks like a perfect list!
Absolutely love your channel. There's a ton of huge, new collections coming out but there's a lack of people reviewing them and you're simply the best in this regard
It's hard to explain, but the Phoenix Flavour has completely revitalized my affection for the game. I've dumped thousands of hours into Skyrim, and many of them have been on custom modlists of my own. But it always felt like I spent more time modding than playing, and it never felt like my choice of mods was getting me what i was looking for. If you're looking to sink some more time into Skyrim, but don't want to radically change the game, this is for you. I swear, this is how Skyrim was meant to be. It has stronger echoes of the other Elder Scrolls games, and doesn't feel as watered down and janky as vanilla. Combat is exciting and just challenging enough to keep your attention. If you're not careful, youll get your ass handed to you where you'd otherwise just soak damage in vanilla. Though there are still features I miss from my dear Oblivion, Skyrim feels like a more proper Elder Scrolls entry now. Simple things, like locking your vision onto an NPC when you enter conversation really help to reinforce the roleplay aspects of the game. Characters that seemed meh before really shine with this little tweak, and shows off the new facemorphs. It also frames the mods' beautiful environments, making each conversation a unique snapshot of the world. It's hard to explain, but I swear by OG Phoenix Flavour, and this edition looks like it could be even better. There are more extensive and radical modlists out there. But I think this one hit my sweet spot, managing to finally deliver a Skyrim casuals and longtime fans can appreciate
A sacrifice for the algorithm gods! And thank you for still reviewing lists! One of these days, I'll jump right into one, right after I finish tweaking my own..... one day....
As someone who is just completely up to my eyeballs with work at the moment, I was not very enthusiastic about having to make a mod list again, but I honestly did not know things like this existed! Someone took the time to make a stable mod list so I don't have to? Hats off to them! I will definitely give this a go, I still have PTSD from my last playthrough, having to recompile DynDoLOD several times, RTFM again and again but still getting save corruption and having to start all over. This will make the holidays much better! I can just sit... and play. Thanks for the great video you explained it wonderfully!
i usually dont really comment on videos, but this one right here actually really helped me decide to pick up skyrim again. I can't recommend playing it again enough, with this modpack. Cheers to ya for making this video
I want to thank you for your work and vids, you helped me to get into skyrim again. I personally hate all the work that comes with modding but you made it all look really easy and made skyrim feel fresh for me. It's like im playing it for the first time again big thanks !
I downloaded this mod list based of your review and it is amazing. If you have ever modded Skyrim by yourself, you will understand and appreciate the enormous effort that has gone in creating this mod list. The visuals are indeed stunning and the performance is fantastic. I was skeptical that a 1300+ list WITH ENB enabled, will provide an enjoyable gaming experience on my PC but The Phoenix Flavour DE really delivers. I have been playing this list now for quite some time and it never(!) crashed nor did I see any structural or visual flaws in the game. So thank you to the team behind this mod list and DroppedIceCream for this review. I tried to add a few mods to the list myself. The first one where button icons for my Playstation 4 controller and this worked right out of the box without any issues with the original list and I am still playing with it. I then tried to add Bijin's character mods (NPCs, wives and sword-maidens) because I think those are the best looking characters you can get. This created mixed results and while some characters worked fine, others didn't and I ultimately de-installed these mods again.
Been watching your videos for a while. Keep it up! I’m sure it’s not easy and you have stuff going in your life but you still regularly bring us videos and I really appreciate it. ❤️
You did a great job of summing up the mod as well as giving plenty of information that people would ask as they are introduced to the content for the first time. Keep on being awesome!
I've put over 100 hours into Dragons Edition so far and have barely touched the main story. This is a phenomenal mod list with 100s of hours of content, easily.
Every paycheck I get a little closer to a 3070 and finally running one of these modlists lol. For now, my 1070 is doing its best and I'm having the most fun I've ever had in Skyrim playing Septimus 3. This modlist looks super sick, but idk if I could play w/o True Directional Movement. Have you looked at Krahven? It's very Vanilla + and Survival oriented, and looks beautiful.
The 1070 is still an ol' reliable, but yeah the jump to a 3070 will feel great. And I've seen Krahven but not really looked into it, but I will now that I know it's survival oriented!
@@DroppedIceCreamMods It probably is reliable but like you I am a proud member of the Ultrawide family, so my performance suffers a bit lol. Soon! Soon....
My 1070 is running Living Skyrim 3 pretty good so far. Not ultrawide though, and I'm not an FPS elitist, I don't mind a dip here and there. An NVMe drive helped a lot. Still when the price is right who wouldn't prefer a little upgrade?
@@AlabasterJazz Really? What cpu do you have? I kinda figured LS3 was out of the running. I do prefer having at least a steady 55-60 fps though I can forgive the occasional stutter in demanding areas.
@Roxiie i7 9700k. LS3 runs pretty good for the most part too, I haven't stress tested it or anything, but nothing stands out as laggy. I must reiterate I'm not ultrawide however, single standard screen at 1920 x 1080, no back ground apps running either.
This looks GORGEOUS. Is it pretty stable? A lot of the Wabbajack modlists sadly aren't maintained well or aren't very stable. The Phoenix Flavour does a good job creating a modding experience while staying STABLE. How is the stability of this modlist?
I'm pretty sure this is the exact type of modlist I've been looking for. Better cities, lots of greenery, small game tweaks that don't make it feel like an entirely different game, tons of new areas and quests. I am more excited to try this one than any others I've downloaded so far
if we want to run math… a year is about 8760 hours irl, divide by 20 to slow it down… 438 hours irl for a whole year in game. which is about 18 days and 6 hours irl for a whole year inside Skyrim.
@@DroppedIceCreamMods Youll get the amazing desaturated realistic painting look outside and the perfect intense Rudy Lux light for indoors. Its incredibly perfect so far. No crash etc Love your content! You made me install Witcher, Fallout 4 and five different lists for Skyrim lol. Lux is my favorite indoor lightmod too. I needed all its patches you can find, deactivate everything RL related and also used the Lux Brightening Plugin (50/50). Serios ENB is the TPF Standard ENB so its needs to be adjusted for indors. I basically took every enviroment indoors and complexparticlelight entry of the provided optimized Lux ENB for Serio. I also used SkinSpecular entries from Rudy for better skin outside. Also ive put the whole Lux stuff at the end of the list right before Rolof and Hadvar, but i probably dont have to tell you this
Elysium has LotD and true directional movement. Overall looks better, but runs worse. I prefer this list even though I have a beefy rig that can handle Elysium
@@danielsan2349 Out of curiosity- what's your rig? I have a 3080 w/ i9 10850k - going to try Elysium tomorrow. If I don't like how it feels, I'll switch over to TPF:DE. Regardless, thanks for your reply as I had the same question as Mr Nobody
Thank you very much for this showcase! I have one question tho and I would appreciate your help if possible... I looked for this on Wabbajack but I can't find it... There's only Phoenix flavour and one more but no dragon edition... I can't find any info on that
Hey there. Longtime viewer and first time commenter. I decided to finally download this and give it a try after your recommendation. Any tips to how TDM was successfully patched in there?
Just installed Septimus 3 last night. Before I get too far into it, could anyone help me understand the key differences between that and this list? I was interested in Dragons but at the time could not find a review.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! And yes definitely, while I want to get the biggest wabbajack lists out the way first, I've been eyeing up the lists on Nexus and wanting to dive into them.
It was in the modlist before, now it isn't. The mod doesn't offer as stable experience as I would like and still needs a lot of work, so I have decided not to use it for now.
Question for anyone who upgraded SE to Anniversary Edition & Phoenix Flavour DE ? I’ve just paid for the upgrade and am playing SE after 20 hrs. Does anyone know if saved games from SE Phoenix Flavour load in new content automatically once Anniversary Edition is installed with the PFDE ? Or is it a restart from scratch situation ? Would the old saves work with the extras or end up potentially corrupt ?
Hey everybody, I tried to install this through 3 parts on Nexus through Vortex, but it's missing a ton of mods. Is this meant only for a wabbajack installation?
So to run this on steady 60 FPS, what hardware is recommended? My old reliable 1070 is showing its age, and as the prices goes down, thinking to finally upgrade
@@Mak7397 Did you try the modlist out yet? I have a laptop with a 3060 and am not sure if I should get the regular version of Phoenix Flavor, or the Dragon Edition.
i wouldnt do it, its not worth it, the majority of mods dont work so if you wanted to try another modlist or edit that list it wouldnt work AE broke mods in general
Looks great, but that ENB ugh thats ugly af ... definitely changing that, good thing it can be done. Do you recommend any compatiple enbs with this modlist which are more gritty and realistic looking and not so oversaturated, cartoon like fairy tale like this one?
Was having weird facial clipping with beards since downloading this list. Apparently the mod author either hasn't updated the list in a while or was simply too lazy but you can find a beards comp patch on the nexus for high poly heads, absolutely bollocks that i had to do that for a supposed modlist heralded for simplicity.
