I seen The Photograph on Thursday. The musical interludes were amazing. Robert Glasper & H.E.R. are pure genius. I thoroughly enjoyed Mae's Mother love story and the flashbacks from past to present. I loved all the melanin on the screen. I love how unapologetic Issa Rae is about everything. I think that is a rare quality.

Loved this! The film was SO GOOD & needed. I loved when LaRell said it’s important to see strong black couples doing well than super traumatic situations bringing us together like in Queen & Slim. More healthy examples all 2020! 💪🏽

The Photograph, I'll start here, this movie is more powerful between each spoken word exchanged between Issa and LaKeith. More specifically, it is both the stolen and unstolen looks aimed and sometimes aimless but cleverly expressed allowing the viewers like me to fill-in the gaps with our own thoughts further summoning our connection to this film, this soundtrack....oh this film is in my top 3. My first date was about $5 when I was vacationing in Ghana for 2 weeks and met him; he had been in Ghana for a month studying as a Fulbright Scholar. When we returned to the States, he spent about the $5 on our date eating street food and I enjoyed the date completely! Around Date 16, we flew to Egypt first class British Air 😫 to see the pyramids, cruise the Nile River and tour Alexandria... then we we camped in Martha’s Vineyard ...then Nantucket...coast of Maine...Montreal...Jamaica and next Tanzania . Point being don’t judge how much a person spends or what type of car they drive or job they have. After all, I was driving a busted 1998 Nissan Altima that was leaking oil but my salary was $300,000. Point being that sometimes people try to hide real income or wealth cuz they don’t want to be money targets. I learned this from my buddies who make 7 -8 figures and you would never know-until you hear about their travels, vacation homes, $65,000 tuition for high school etc. The Photograph was a cute movie but the chemistry was off between the two main characters LaKeith and Issa/Isse -her energy is masculine. More about parents back story would have been interesting! The brother and his wife and their family was a cute story. The father/man from Beasts of the Southern Wild is a great actor. The. Cinematography and costumes were sweet! I would watch again

There is no such thing as black love. I mean if they want to market the movie to everyone, they must stop market it as black love. It is not good for business. Plus, love is universal. How about you market it as that?
