Love how genuine and sweet he is. I feel like this might be a good case for how a personality type might open the door to an opportunity, and in this case his disposition might be very disarming for people when it comes to his photos. And that's a talent all on it's own. I also love what he documents and his love for Philly. I feel like we should all be able to document what we enjoy and find genuinely interesting. But I love that a black photographer has such a beautiful body of work about the black experience in Philadelphia. I feel like when you shoot what you know and love it comes through differently than being an outsider. I live in Philly too, but I'm not from here and I'm not black, and I often think about how not to step over a line where it feels like I'm trying to photograph something that I don't maybe fully have context for and perhaps it isn't for me. But that's my own insecurities as I'm still trying to hone in on what sort of larger body of work I think I'm trying to build. Anyway, really enjoyed this episode. Seems like a swell guy. Oh and that point at the end of photography as an act of love, I dig it, going out there and trying to capture those intangible fleeting moments that make up our collective human experiences is absolutely an act of love.

Refreshing to hear him discuss his love of Philly. There was a point when I wanted to move to Philly because it reminded me of NYC but there’s something unique about Philly, the way locals engage and interact is more direct and open compared to here. It’s a great vibe

@@thegraffboy123 As a born and raised New Yorker, the transplants that come to NYC with a goal of being a successful street photographer tend to have inflated egos and, more often than not, come across as prententious. Regular people are fine, we're kind, not nice.

What a wonderful tribute to Olu's incredible journey as a photographer! As someone who's seen Philadelphia change in countless ways, it's heartwarming to see such young talent and passion captured so beautifully. Olu's ability to tell stories through the lens that no one else can is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece with us. It brought back so many memories and a renewed appreciation for the art of photography and the city of Philadelphia. Well done! 👍

Great episode and what a great guy Olu is. He lowkey cracked the code for me, and put into words I wasn’t able to do, why I love street and life photography: “Photography is the practice of love and zest for life, where you assign meaning and value to the journey one photographed moment at a time.” Thank you.

@@coda7902 Thank you! I didnt know F100 was small. I have the F4 (not F4s or F4e) and it must be bigger than the F100 maybe because of the removable viewfinder. F100 must have a stunning matrix metering, the one in F4 is ultra effective.
@rf.photographs
@rf.photographs 2 месяца назад
Standard Nikon matrix metering tech on the F100. I have the F100 too I use for cityscapes/landscapes. It's "spot metering" is precise too when you want to zoom in and meter for the shadows.
@kriXoff75
@kriXoff75 2 месяца назад
@@rf.photographs I always used my F2 for street photo. And it's not easy sometimes with center weighted metering, (if i remember well, it's 20% center and 80% around). Some of my shots (i would say 10% of them) were under or over exposed. I had opportunity to buy an F4 and i shoot with the same film (HP5+), same ISO (1600) and developed in with the same developer (Microphen), and all shots was exposed very well when i used matrix metering. I use Voigtlander lens 40mm Ultron, aperture mode f11 and focus at 4 meters (sometimes 2 meters if i want closer), and the Nikon F4 do a fantastic job.
