The Pi Cast (3/26) Oscar Vermeulen: PiDP8 and PiDP10 and the history of DEC Computers 

I have them all. Oscar’s replica kits are fantastic: well designed, excellent documentation and great fun to explore these amazing machines!

As an owner of Oscar's PiDP-8 and PiDP-11, I *need* a PiDP-10!!! Oscar, the community he has created, and the SIMH community for these operating systems and legacy disk/tape/media images are truly legend!

Oscar has done an amazing job of bringing these replicas to the community - the simh integration with the front panel lights and switches adds a real sense of realism to each of the PDP8 / 11 / 10's and with simh you get to play with the original operating systems warts and all !

Ill never forget toggling the BIN on my PDP 8/L circa early 1980's. I learned on a PDP10 KA as a child in the 70's ; )

The Whirlwind was the first computer to use magnetic core memory. As your guest says, it was the basis for the SAGE system's famous AN/FSQ-7 computers, the physically largest computers ever built.

The color demo thingy is called "Bubble Universe".
