homestead Vlog from our off grid small farm in Norway. We are in the month of April and the Mangalitsa pigs are plowing new fields for this year's vegetable gardens. I make fences, and move the pigs, sow vegetables and much more. Here are some glimpses of ever everyday life here in the north. We meet all the animals, chickens, ducks, sheep, donkey, pigs, sheep and our faithful shepherd dog - Akita

So fun to follow along! Exciting that you are planting seeds now. And the lambs are so cute. I am wondering what you feed your pigs all? We are preparing to also get pigs this month, mangalitsa as well 😊 We also went to the supermarket and can pick up old food for animals now too, so glad you showed us this is possible. 😊

ooo wow so excited that you are going to buy Mangalitsa pigs. It's such a nice animal, hardy, doesn't get sick and thrives really well in our climate, and you also don't need a tractor to plow the land either😅 Ours eat almost everything, citrus fruits are the only thing I see they leave behind 🙂 In addition to almost everything of food scraps, ours eat a lot of roots, grass, straw and branches. Congratulations on the pigs😀🐖🥰

I have a very similar system with seeds planting. They are still in the boxes. The last frost day is 25th May so all squash, tomatoes and other warmth loving plants must wait. We dug out all 100 potatoes because they were store bought and not sprouting 😮 I watched your garden prep with great pleasure. It seems that you have no water source close to garden area. Am I right? Remember the duck pond but I could not figure it out 😊 🌸🌹⚘🌷

Yes, our attempts at tomato, squash, pumpkin, chilli etc will probably have to wait quite a while before being planted out. Very unpredictable that weather. So sad with the potatoes at your place. Hope you get started with new ones. 🌱 Here we sowed broad beans and planted leeks, kale and Brussels sprouts yesterday🙂 It's true that there is no water there, but we made an irrigation pond last year with a dam in a small stream that we pump water up there with a solar pump. So if there is no drought for more than 6-8 weeks, we will have water from there 🙂

@@wildandwoolly We planted "new" seed potatoes so there is hope for our own crop 🥜 Carrots, parsley, beans, cabbage, lettuce, onions are in the soil. I did not plant beets and kale this year. Thanks for reply. 🤗
