I spent the night on the Pilgrim in 1985 and can still remember it like it was yesterday. Then all 3 of my children did the Pilgrim program. So sad to see it in this state but I agree, we can come together and fix it. It’s far too valuable to lose.
Idk their official statement said it was beyond repair i don't think they have thw time or money to fix it. Super sad because thats also what i said when i heard the news
@@UppaClasWhiteTrash Gosh you look at those 20 million$ houses that over- look the institute, there would be at least one if not a few residents who would want to finance the rebuild along with smaller donations from the rest of us.
@@zanderg5264 i would sure hope so but sadly I wouldn't bet even a dollar that those rich people wanna help out at all haha. Sad but true but hey hopefully I'm wrong
Well the city could use some of the real estate tax money they collect on those high valued homes to donate and rebuild the pilgrim. It's an icon of Dana point and it's for an educational organization that helps teach kids science and history. I mean I always kind of thought these are the reasons we elect officials and have local governments in the first place, to take care of local issues in the community......
@@theghostly7 nah bro we elect them so they can cowtow to the rich and businesses that truly elect them. I grew up on that boat every summer with my friend. But they won't fix it i sound very cynical rn but its true especially with the pandemic we have rn everybody is focused on that.
