It's a Cyclone, not a Musicmaster. But yea, I agree. Especially in the case of Manabe. Once he moved onto humbuckers the sound just go too compressed. I'm sure they used all sorts of stuff in the studio but I always equate The Pillows' golden era with single coils.
@@MuscleDad420 I'm glad someone brought this up. Sawao and Manabe's tone during this time period were absolutely the best. Just the right amount of distortion and grittiness.
