So basically, iron pipes max at 180% and you can use a Cloutium intake to reach 180% without using any boosters.

I recently attached Cloutium intake to all iron setup just to see, but didn't have a pressure gauge and wasn't sure what the steam popping out meant for sure. This might be OK for early setup, though. :)

Was just going to say this. I tossed a Cloutium intake and noticed the steam, figured it was due to a cap of the pipes. This video confirmed it. So putting on a cloutium intake that you can just buy with extra coin, no forging boosters and done.

Another pipe tip is if you run a Cloutium intake with boosters to iron pipe to wherever you want to go then put a Cloutium pressure tank and Cloutium pipes after that point it will have the intake pressure past that point. Good for a cheap long feeder line.

@@ronrolfsen3977 not a bug, but probably an exploit. The booster returns the pressure to the intake pressure, so the game is working as intended, but it may not be being played as intended.

@@franktibbitts3117 it's not a bug. It's not even unrealistic. For example, a pressure washer makes 3000 psi but it's fed by a garden hose that's at a much lower pressure. A fire truck can shoot water hundreds of feet but it's fed by a low-pressure water main. Conservation of energy is maintained because the garden hose/water main has a much higher mass flow rate to make up for the lower pressure. It's very directly analogous to electrical power, you can transmit the same amount of power with high voltage/low current as you can with low voltage/high current.

From what I've seen of 1.7, modulator piping and convayers were one of the best changes to hydroneer

Thanks hybrid for making this video. Now I understand what I need to do for my pressure. I have been using four pressur tanks for my cloutium pipes. I am only going to use one tank for each ram drill I have from now on. I didn't understand what I was doing for pressure. I am glad we have you making these videos for us og's and us noobs. Awesome video, just another point for people about filters, gauges and pipe switches/taps, youre able to put up to 4 onto a single straight pipe (similar to the intake pipe) by changeing orientation, great for compact builds

It's a great change that we only need 1 pressure tank now. Only need to put a pressure tank directly into any equipment or at the start of a conveyor system to get max speed. I hope we still get better quality ore with max pressure as we use to (better pressure better quality).

Just like you can rotate the boosters, you can also rotate the filters. Four filters do fit in one single pipe now. I assume you also can rotate the gauges too. Anything that plugs in the pipes, really.

i found a little glitch with the pipes that trun mine into like super pressure i had t and used elnow to cirle them back into the other pipe and it made water pressure go way up fast even tho the pressure had said zero

I just had a great idea. They need to add a pipe tier. 1. Paper Piping - 15% 2. Plastic Piping - 100% 3. Metal Piping - 250% Then it's like our straws IRL, haha. (just kidding, but paper straws are horrible, especially with milkshakes. Who in the hell ever thought that would work?)

"Piece and quiet!" They added a slider for the water noise in the sound settings. You could just drag it to zero instead of using a cork and won't cost a dime. Beware the slippery floors though. :P

I did that at first when i played this game but as I got further in it became a problem more than anything, made it harder to find leaks. the water sound is obnoxious but its like that for a reason.

how about user cloutium intake pipe the rest iron for the pipe run, but then use a cloutium booster tank and connect to your drill or belt ? Still get full Cloutium presser ?

i didnt talk about this as it sort of cheats the system and the devs didnt think about this but its something i activly talk about after this video.... this video was mainly to show people how the pipes work .. if u use it in any other way then thats up to you.

if you use the tier 2 intake and then use teir 1 pipe and add the tier 2 booster at the end and use tier 2 pipe after booster it is much cheaper to build and get same percent increase

Very Helpful! I see that higher pressure can speed up conveyor belts, but does not seem to speed up the drills, is there any reason for me to run drills with high pressure?

The fun part I've found is you can attach both filters and the valve to the same pipe, saving space.

From my testing, if you attach filter and valve to the same pipe, the filter will still take damage while the valve is "off".

so how many filters is optimal now cause they changed filters from 20% to improve quality by 2 on basic with a max of 10 filters (or is that quality of 10?) per line so howmany do I need now is it 5 still or is it now 10?

What are the water filters for? Heard they are needed for some machinery but i have yet to come by such machines.

filters are for keeping the damage away from your build so u only have to repair the filters and not the machines attached

yes so u cna make an entire pipe line out of iron pipes and use a cloutium intake with boosters and a cloutium boost tank next to all machines and it would boost to the intakes pressure. downside is it would only work on t2 as t1 drills are iron and max out at 180 pressure but its a good way to lighten the cost early t2 build

if you use any sort of iron pipe it will knock the pressure down to 177 as iron pipe cant deal with that much preasure

@@Hybridsteel you are right and wrong. Yeah The iron pipes limitate your pressure, but u have a clothium intake, a way with iron pipes and a clothium pressure booster on The end. The pressure Will be based again with The clothium intake.

Curious, if you use a Cloutium pump, metal pipes, then a cloutium Booster and cloutium pipes from there on, does the game limit you to metal pressure or Cloutium pressure?

intake pressure boosters wont install on any intake for me, tier 1 wont install on iron intale or cloutium intake, just stays red. Ive tried in watwr out od water on ground always red like something is in the way

I'm having problems placing more than two boosters on the iron intake pipe. They keep showing up red, therefor, not letting me place it. Any ideas what i am doing wrong?

Hey so I just got the game and I'm trying to figure out filters but it seams like no one really has talked about how you can put 4 filters on one pipe and I'm wondering if it helps or hurts the system at all in any way saving space like that

if you put 4 filters on pipe it works exactly the same as putting 1 on a single pipe the 4 will take damage over time. the main reason why people dont do this is when u go to automate the repair and then its harder to setup an auto repair on filters than having everyhting on 1 pipe.. also u need 5 filters for max protection

How much pressure does it take to use the gem compressor. Because I can't get mine to work and I have a full cloudium pipe set with a booster and still doesn't work. What am I missing?

1. u need water into the abck of the compressor 2. u need a gem polisher on ur belts so the gems that go into the compressor are cut and ready for compression.

Hey I got a problem with my system. I use one intake pipe for my entire system and even if i use the pipe booster i lose complete pressure in parts of the system for a second or so every couple seconds. Is there a limit on how many things one intake pipe can handle?

u need the cost of the plot which is 7 grand and thats the icehelm plot, then u need machines and pipe so for dead basic around 5 grand for everything neede to mine and the plot so ur need about 13 grand

Update: I bought a Cloutium Intake and Pressure tank for my Iron pipes, and I can open the Cloutium Pressure tank but the Iron pressure tank still will not open. at least I am getting 177% at my extractor. Weird.

So the pressure of water doesn't affect the outcome of any drill right? Its only for distance purposes?

According to Bridgepour "Works faster with better water pressure. Takes damage. The deeper you dig the better the resources." So pressure increases the speed that the drill produces dirt clumps and depth increases quality of the resources within the dirt. I'm sure Hybrid will do a great job breaking down how much faster and how much better in his video, but the short of it will be, "Put your drills as deep as possible, and give them as much pressure as possible, to reap the best possible rewards, as fast as possible." (I don't think I could have possibly said possible any more in a single sentence.) It would be interesting to see the difference between the "better resources" from the depth of the drill compared to the "bigger yield" from increased pressure of the harvester.

do u mean the booster u attach to an intake pipe or the shard tank if its the booster on the intake pipe u should just be able to pick it up and attach to the intake. if its the shard tank its a pipe so u just attach it like a normal pipe.. If you are having trouble with the intake booster then make sure the intake isnt clipping too much into the dirt bank as this can cause problem with attaching boosters to the intake

dont need to u use cloutium then ur putting out so much pressure u can run quite a lot off 1 intake, the problem with adding another intake is cross signal in the code it used to loop and crash the game thats been taking out and there is no reason to add more.. u can run everything in multiple builds off 1 intake if you place pressure tanks in right place's

I see that you're replying to all of these comments, and I have been scouring the internet for an answer to this question, so hopefully i can get an answer here. How the heck do you get forged iron pipes in the first place? I've checked the wiki, gone to every shop and even gone inside of the Icehelm Forge! Do you forge them, hence the name? If so, where?!

u mean shards.. yeah u pick up shard and put it in a booster same wit hshard bars put loads in a crucible melt them toegther and pour into a mould and have a shard bar u put into a booster.. thats all. And no im not making guides anymore not sustainable for channel growth

u dont need to but you will be repairing your drill and harvester if you dont have 5 filters on ur line plus side is the shop next to ember does sell toolbags

@@Hybridsteel Do you know if putting more than 1 filter on a section of pipe will work? As each pipe could hold 4 filters (top, sides and bottom) if you wanted. I dont think this is how math works. 3% off 100% is 97% after just the first pipe, yes, but the second pipe is taking off 3% from 97, not 6% from 100, so it's not 94 after two pipes, but 94.09. I mean if it would work the way you said, after just 34 pipes there wouldnt be ANY water flow, but the way it is theres actually always a tiny bit of waterflow left, it will never go down to 0 even after 100 pipes. At least thats what i think, or how it should work mathematically. The pressure reader just doesnt do decimals.
