The Pirates - Live at Dingwalls 1977

By the mid-1970's 'The Pirates' were, without doubt, the most popular act on the club circuit in the UK with their reputation rapidly spreading throughout Europe and Scandinavia. However the band had first emerged in 1959 as a backing group to the late, great Johnny Kidd with whom they enjoyed a total of nine chart singles. Their re-emergence as a power rock/rhythm and blues trio took the live circuit by storm and their two Warner Brothers albums 'Out Of Their Skulls' and 'Skull Wars' received outstanding reviews. This footage captures the band delivering the goods in their natural habitat with no holds barred!
Songs featured:
1. I Can Tell
2. Gibson, Martin, Fender
3. Shakin' All Over
4. You Don't Own Me
5. Lonesome Train
6. Talking About You
Recorded live at Dingwalls, Camden Lock, London 1977
Mike Green - Lead and rhythm guitar, backing vocals
Johnny Spence - Bass guitar and vocals
Frank Farley - Drums and backing vocals

Mick Green, possibly the most underrated, unappreciated guitarist ever!

Hendrix rated Mick...but I know exactly what you mean..he wasnt showy doing speed solos which bore me anyway..he just has a great feel..I must've seen this band half a dozen times between 77 and 79 and finding this great bit of film as reignited my passion for this great band..I was a punk back then and punks loved the Pirates. Real sad to hear of Mick and Frank's passing..they were lovely guys..met em several times.

If your nostalgic for Dr Feelgood and Pirates stuff, Muddy Waters etc .... there’s a band of veterans called The Extras based near Merseyside who crack out a good noise for their collective age! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ps2deRkfSv4.html Check them out Live .... caught them at The Railway Inn, Nantwich last year .... great sound! ..... which is NOW OPEN after the COV 19 minor sniffle ...btw ... according to their website .... not sure when bands are playing again ... hopefully soon. Good place to develop your ‘herd immunity’ .... like true rock n rollers! (Please ... this is not a punk band .... so No Spitting!) Quango Public Health England gets this year’s award for the band billed as “No future hopefuls 2020”
