I learned this technique in the early Tracy's days from Jim Stewart who I think learned it from Joe Lewis. It needs to be done with serious hip torque and forward thrust behind the initial movement of the hand. I do like your adding the hook. I have found it to be an excellent technique that has stood the test of time.
THE PIT Online Dojo I was wondering this looks like a really good class how often does one of your actual MMA fighters join a class like this as part of their MMA course for fighting or does that ever happen this looks like something where I could kind of cross-train for like a Chuck Liddell Court McGee guy to go into this class and still get a lot of good training does that ever happen

This is like the California Blitz coach Hackleman showed prior to the Dillard Shuffle.
Trying to understand this one... "lead right followed by left hook from an orthodox stance..." Footwork is a push drag I think, so, wheres the shuffle?
I learned it as a step through, not a step-drag. It's meant to close distance. If your opponent is close no need for the technique unless you fake the right and move with a step-drag followed by the left hook.
