Why do all tech reviewers hate on screen borders? Like - imagine beeing able to HOLD a phone without dodgy edge detection failing and zooming and doing strange stuff just because of the trendy edgeless design were your hand flubber touches the display :P Horrid right? :P
Not even mentioning the utter dismal support. Software updates are always late, lacking late crippled major updates, early abandonment, poor security updates. I bought a Zenfone 6 once. NEVER AGAIN. In the Android camp you have TWO choices: Google and Samsung.
I like small phones but i only like them in my pocket, when i’m watching something on youtube i regret not having a bigger display. I think 5.9 inches it’s not small enough but not big enough either. Sadly this weird size flagships segment will be eaten by the flip and folds devices. They are more convenient but they have some quirks as well. To be honest i think the size of my 13 Pro (6.1 inches) it’s perfect, the phone feel’s heavy but that’s another story. Personally i’m waiting for a foldable device from Asus.😊
@@liviurosca yes now useless but ... I buy iPhone for my brother same time that iPhone is wrost now but my pixel is running good I am using Android 12 in my 5 year old pixel 😂 and the processor is running fast only one demerit is heating issue when heavy use like hard video editing and video call more then hours ... .. The software is very very very smooth no compitition with other brands Google software is ultra level I choose pixel over iPhone only because of software experience and vibration... So many features in pixel device some are not work in india 🤦
@@Xtechi brother if you take in your hand pixel is most lighter and handy and slim 😁..... You say display I consider small display is good for those people who want a handy phone .... In pixel 3 it have double selfie camera on front many sensors.. it interesting thing is double speaker on front screen... 😍 One upper part and one lower part .. no curve display but zero side bazzels curve edges of display 😍
I just Can’t get used to phones with camera holes in the corner like that. I wish companies would stop this. I would have given it a shot but it’s a pass for me personally. Great video anyway
Hello, I have had this phone for 2 months and I can say that: 1. the screen was filled with scratches, 2. the back cover has become dull on the edges, it looks horrible, as if it were a fat cake, what a worst choice, trying to make the phone lighter, they chose this shitty plastic. 3. the zenfone UI functions, which should make your life easier, are stupid, for example the 2 times tapping function on the back of the phone works when it feels like it, or the one on the volume button, or the one on the sensor button, the phone is not calibrated enough for that. 4. when there are several active functions, or Wi-Fi is turned on, the battery discharges very quickly and even heats up. 5. the phone feels in the hand during operation, you simply feel the radiation, the SAR value is at the upper limit, it is not recommended to use it too much near the ear. 6. the frames of the cameras are uneven, I don't see what the point would be, anyway if you put the phone on the table and want to write or browse applications, the phone dances terribly, it cannot be used in this way, a special phone case is needed. 7. the material from which the back cover is made retains odors. 8. the phone tends to get hot, the programs are crowded and often more confusing. 9. I had to strongly reduce the number of functions to save the battery, if I don't use it it lasts for two good days, but I have to charge it overnight so that it doesn't discharge the next day. 10. still a Chinese shit in the end. I wanted it to be 10, but it's 11: the camera is under critical condition, until now I didn't think that there would be something like this on a flagship, incredible Asus, the worst software, I don't want to say more...... my review is 100% true, I don't want to offend anyone
I wish companies would at least release a tiny phone every 3 years or something more reasonable instead of just abandoning them altogether. We aren’t a big fraction of the market but we do exist.
I was so caught up with all the fan rumors of a Pixel Mini that I totally forgot other android phones exist. Thank you for this review. I've been loyal to the Google brand, getting pixel after Pixel but they've become so big they barely fit in my scrub pockets. It's funny how we've made it back full circle to the 90's Brick. C'mon Google pls pull through and deliver something that fits in a pocket.
Yes! I loved my pixel 5 got the 7 and it’s nice and all but just a little to big. Google please make a small phone and a plus size phone. They will sell.
Am I the only one who doesn't give a shit about small bezels. I'll love a phone with better stereo speakers and display with no holes in it. I miss htc. Anyways, kudos to asus for sticking with the audio jack. Apparently, some humungus phones have no space to fit one in.
I don't mind some bezels either, just a little more space to hang on to without triggering a touch input, I have no idea where these no bezel craze came from, imo ruins the design process.
Just got a Zenfone 10 after 2 years with a Pixel 6 that I hated, I missed the smaller Pixel 5! Generally love the Zenfone 10, crazy how useful the 3.5mm jack is. I want to listen to music in transit hubs, Bluetooth is useless at rush hour in Liverpool Street Station (London, UK) due to congestion from fellow passengers. While I have a set of USB C wired headsets, but the top of the phone is a better location for the jack, and I have lots of great 3.5mm headphones still knocking about.
I too am thinking about leaving my cumbersome pixel 6 behind, not sure I trust Googles hardware anymore and there are still bugs on this phone years after release. Anything that has been bugging you on the Z10? I'm seriously considering this phone.
Here's the thing ..just so you all know..in my region a Zenfone 9 (yes Zenfone 9 not 10) at 128GB storage is at the same price (799 euros) as a galaxy S23 with 256 GB storage...so...Asus...they can go f. themselves with those prices.
And the overall dimensions for both phones are very similar. Zenfone 10 = 146.5 x 68.1 x 9.4 mm. 172g weight Galaxy s23 = 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6 mm. 168g weight
@@wyntog I meant the small phone from the S23 series. The regular S23 is worth way more for your money than the zenfone. Not that the series is smaller than the zenfone. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.
I am a bit tired of the battery life on my Pixel 7 pro. (and the size). This phone looks like something I would love... The fast voice typing and the instant translation features on my Pixel phone is something I don't think I can give up (I use it constantly). How do these two features work on the Zenfone 10? I understand the Tensor G2's AI/ML are responsible for some of it but is it comparable on the Zenfone 10?
if only they had given 1 more OS update.. this be a very very good phone.. when i received the android 14 was already out. so only one more OS left for me
Wow! I been thinking about this video here and there throughout these past 8 month so far. I just found out that Asus makes the ROG phones too. Google better stop playing, because Asus isn't. Because it looks like their having a lot of luck with their Zenfone and ROG series.
This thing is even taller then the S23 which is almost exactly the same size as the iPhone and yet People say the Asus Zenfone is small. WTF? The iPhone Mini was small. This is a regulär sized phone with a small screen and big bezels.
it is in fact taller than S23 but is because of the aspect ratio, if the two phones shares the same aspect the zenfone would be shorter. and aside that, being narrower has advantages too, you can grip more firmly, moving your finger at the top and bottom without being cumbersome.
@@waytakaq more storage, faster storage and RAM, new chip, better battery life in general use (less in 3D gaming due to 144hz), wireless charging etc. There are improvements but there are some bad decisions. No AF or 4K in selfie camera, no AF on ultrawide (but more MP and better FOV). At the current launch price of £749 for a 16/512 it's a decent deal if you just want a smaller phone that's quick with a good battery experience.
The Samsung Galaxy s23 is very similar size with none of the downsides Zenfone 10 dimensions = 146.5 x 68.1 x 9.4 mm. 172g weight Galaxy s23 dimensions = 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6 mm. 168g weight
@@akirakurusu4309 Headphone jack is a non-issue for me. I prefer my s23 camera setup above the Pixel 7 which I had previously. I'm surprised you think it is worse than the Zenfone as reviews have not been too favourable to the Zenfone camera.
I don't feel the pixel mini suits it as a comparison...pixel specs are never this good for small pixel devices. It's more like the mini Sony devices of old with full blown flagship CPUs
@@ChrisPanton You can individually add apps that you want 144hz rendered to, via Game Genie. For eg, 144hz can be used on Google Chrome. In that way, anytime you open Chrome, the refresh rate automatically switches from 120hz to 144hz.
tbh it looks like ideal phone, no fingerprint under the screen is big adventage, it's not big, has great screen and battery life. wonder if they block camera or do other stupid stuff which locks custom roms?
@@liviurosca well, I don’t know as I was reading through comments right now after seeing you, or somebody else wrote the same kind of thing about only two years of android updates, so I think some people do care but anyway, have a great day
@@liviuroscawatching a review on XDA channel doesn't mean everyone here are experts at rooting and installing roms. Those days are pretty much over with longer updates.
Every aspect? ZF10 is available with 512gb, 16gb ram in comparison to 8, has longer battery, faster charging with charger in the box (lol), head phone jack (its important to a lot of people still), customisable side buttons and faster fingerprint unlock, non-glass back so less prone to shatter, almost stock android, gimbal ois. So no, you are wrong when you say "every aspect". Larger storage, more ram, longer battery, lean android, non glass back, great screen, decent camera, charger in box, are all valid reasons to buy the ZF10 and this is despite my disappointment at "just" 30W wired charging and only 2 years of android updates.
I actually did wonder why go zenfone when s23 exist. Not much but zenfone 10 handles better even compare to s23. And also 16gb and 516gb option. It's not much, but do make a little bit of difference
How many devices are available with a 6000 mAh battery? Very few. It will get very heavy then. The SoC also plays a big part in battery life, not just the mere size of the battery. Long story short, you don't need a 600 mAh battery to get good battery life.
@@87solarsky Not sure if you're serious or trolling, but there are no phones with 22 Ah. The biggest one is a OUKITEL WP19 with 21000 mAh. But seriously, would you actually want to carry that? That would be a power bank. 5000 mAh is about the biggest battery size commonly to be found in phones, very few have a bigger size than this. But again, it is NOT necessary to have such huge batteries, especially since SoCs are becoming more efficient.
This phone is NOT compact l. In fact, while the screen is smaller, the body of the phone is BIGGER than the S23. And while Asus did fix a big mistake by putting wireless charging back, they still miss a microSD slot. And the software on the phone is UTTER GARBAGE, with its stock-ish experience. I know Alex loves to suck up to Google but the fact is MOST PEOPLE HATE STOCK ANDROID. As proven by the FAILURE of the iPixels year after year after year. And the fact NO stock Android phone has EVER been popular. Asus needs to make their phones actually smaller and completely rework their software if they want to compete. As it stands, the horrible software and the size on this Zenfone 10 puts the phone below an S23, despite the later lacking basic features like a headphone jack. OneUI is vastly VASTLY superior to Asus lazy stock approach. -
@@lukemothug The vast majority of consumers disagrees with you and agrees with me. OneUI is miles better - both and design and functionality - than the garbage Google does on stock Android.
Please make a bigger version, with 3 rear camera, faster charger to wireless. Plus have a glass back not plastic. Have a 144Hz not for only for games. Have the front camera in the middle not on one side.
@@khalidlatif6200and about 300 euro/dollar more expensive. They have made some tradeoffs for a reason. Why the hell would you need a constant 144hz. Even with a 5.000 mAh battery that screen would drain the battery super fast. Putting the camera's in the middle instead of the side would mean designing a new phone platform and re-engineering the whole inside. iPhone updates can not exactly be compared to Android updates. Phone manufacturers have to pay Google for every extra permitted future update, which also increases the phone's price. If the software and digital zoom are comparable to a dedicated 3x zoom lens, I don't really see the need to add more. Size wise this phone would be perfect for me. My Xperia 5 II (6.1 inches) is still maybe just a tad too large for me to work comfortably
