Thank you for doing this video. I do have a question about your join when working in the round. In the video you say you chain one after you’ve done the slip stitch. But in the video you actually did two chains. Not sure which one is correct, one chain or two?
I am having a difficult time figuring out how to make the bear hat. For a child, do I start by making a single crochet foundation, join that and then continue in the plaid pattern and only at the end add the brim? Most hats start with the brim, so it confuses me in your pattern write up.
Hi Bethany! Thank you for sharing! Can you please do a video for the triangle scarf and mittens in plaid? I am a newbie and I would really like to make these. I have difficulty reading patterns. I hope you will consider making the video. Thank you!
Wow - I knew something wasn’t right with the other one because it created 4 dc at the joining point. Didn’t discover this correction until about 5 rows in, plus I follow along with your written pattern. I’ll fake it somehow to get through this row so I can complete the hat from here on in with this new join. There should have been some warning on the original video to see this one first so as to not put in all this time. I’m ready to scream (only because of the angst of the black yarn on top of it). Will you be redoing the video along with written pattern so as we can get it right the first time? Hope so. It was only by accident I found this one because I had to log back on and tried to find original one when I came across this one. I do appreciate your putting these tutorials up so we all can learn. Thanks so much.
bethany dearden I disagree. It didn’t look fine. Obviously you weren’t satisfied with it either for the same reason. That’s why you remedied it. And I’m so appreciative that you did. After you created the new way, it looked absolutely perfect and made a complete difference worthy of gift giving. My only issue is to notify on the original tutorial to refer to the new one. Saves lots of time on this side of the screen. 😎. Thanks again. You’re easy to follow.
