Over Canterbury Anniversary weekend, The Plains Railway in Tinwald celebrated their 50th anniversary. Their three operational steam locomotives were all running, A64, Ja 1260 and K88 and Vulcan Railcar RM50 was also in operation. Each loco took turns running trains up the line formerly known as the Mount Somers Branch and towards the end of the day K88 and Ja 1260 ran a double header mixed train.
As well as the railway, the Tinwald domain hosted various types of machinery on display and for rides including traction engines, fire trucks and tractors.
