Felt inclined to share some of the rich lore that inspired me so much when I was younger, and first getting into Magic: The Gathering! I'm interested to know other peoples thoughts on MTG and the lore therein. I know that many of us, (myself included) are feeling that MTG is going through rocky times right now, but let me know if you have any favorite stories from the game you'd like to see me share! As always, more lore is coming down the pipeline soon from all sorts of different areas of fiction, so stay tuned!
“He often strikes his favorite mortals with epiphany, while striking those who he opposes with… lightning.” idk if that was supposed to be as funny as it was, but it’s great.
Theros was also one of my favorite mtg sets and is quickly becoming my favorite dnd setting. Your video came at a great time for me as a DM so thank you! I can see the love and research you put into this video and it is beyond appreciated
Okay so, we need a video for: Strixhaven, Ravnica, Dominaria, Amonkhet, Tarkir, Zendikar, and uh.... At least those. You made the best lore video for running a D&D campaign on Theros. Gotta keep it going.
Thanks for doing such a deep dive into Theros! I want to make a DnD campaign in this setting and the book launched me into a deep dive looking for a good lore video. Yours is by far the most in-depth I've found!
Love this! Theros is most certainly my favorite plane in MTG. It helped breathe light into the world of magic for me. Would love to see a return to Theros some day soon. I can't thank you enough for make this video on the lore of the plane. Can't wait to see more like it! 🤘
This has been one of my favorite lore videos ever created. So much so that I'm going to watch it again because you have loaded it with so much valued information. It's thought out and well constructed. Thank you!
Fantastic video. Theros is my favorite (remaining) plane in MTG. I also love mythology, and usually pick the gods for commanders in my decks. Although, on a mild side note. As one who has studied Greek, seeing Greek letters used for letters they aren’t simply because of visual similarities can be mildly cringe. But I cannot deny the great touch it does add to the video.
ill be sharing this in DnD group since mtg planes are technically a part of that too, this is a good video! keep making more, ill keep watching! I love this plane the most, and i wanted to include more of it's richness in campaigns in the future
Hey friend, just wanted to let you know Ive watched and rewatched this. Trying to get a Theros campaign set up for DnD and this is doing so much in terms of giving me lore and context in a usable and easy to digest manner. Thank you for what you did here!
21:20: So, Prometheus is responsible for bringing fire to mortals and was punished for this by having his liver eaten by birds. You're thinking Icarus, who's father, Daedalus, made him wings of wax and feathers to escape King Minos' evil grasp. Other than that minor quibble, excellent video! I hope you get more subs and views soon!
Oooh, yep, that's definitely an error on my part! Thank you for offering a correction! I'm going to make an adjustment in the video itself by removing that portion of the clip. While the edit will look a bit disjointed, it will prevent anyone from being misled. Thanks for correcting me! It's greatly appreciated!
@@everberon It's only a minor quibble - and one I think I noticed so readily because I'm currently DM-ing a DnD campaign through Ancient Greece. Props for wanting to actually correct it, though; most RU-vidrs would just shrug and say "It is what it is."
@@PaxIesus I always wanna make sure the info I'm presenting is correct, so I really appreciate the heads up. Also, that sounds like a really exciting campaign idea!
@@everberon I appreciate that, and thank you! It's been a lot of fun incorporating some more obscure points of the mythology (for instance, I haven't even had Zeus or any of the main Olympians make an appearance; it's all been Nyx and Eris and Chaos thus far), and combining them with history, right around the Persian invasion.
Enjoyed your cyberpunk videos. This video is well done and should interest fans, but I refuse to have any more to do with Wizards of the Coast and their products. But that’s just me. All the best to you!
Wizards has gone down hill hard recently, I agree with you there. My take has always been that regardless of the bad decisions of the company, many of the stories from MTG stand on their own and are worth sharing. I 100% agree with your point though they've gotten pretty shifty of late. Hope to see you in the next Cyberpunk vid!
My view on Nyx is that its similar to the Omenpaths: a _part_ of the Blind Eternities at the edge of a plane, but not the Eternities itself. I imagine most planes have something like this, it just usually manifests as atmosphere; Kaladesh is another good example here.
I'm actually running a D&D campaign set in theros your video alone was the most helpful thing I've come across. Would you consider doing something like this for ravnica or planeswallking?
I do have some more MTG stuff planned. I have thought the lore was a lot of fun ever since I was young and want to explore it again. If you have any suggestions for Planes or topics please feel free to let me know!
One of my favourite Planes. This was the time when Wizards was so good at taking the real myths and culture and create a very interesting version of it. I think they are failing at this nowadays.
