I agree especially at the table as your removing the soil. Too much music can be overkill just tasteful enough like when you were running with your dog a quick song like with your shorts.
I love your videos they way they are! It feels very much like a friend catching me up on what they learned ❤ Would you ever be willing to do a video on how to grow plants in just water and what plants work for that. I was also wondering what do you do with the old soil from when you re-pot your plants. My poor house doesn't get much light, so I have stick to low light plants until I get all my plant friendly lights hung up
DEAREST KRYSTAL, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING. DO YOU REUSE THE OLD SOIL MIXED WITH NEW SOIL AND SOME FERTILISER. I AM TRYING EPSON SALTS AS A FERTILISER AT PRESENT AND CINNAMON POWDER FOR PESTS. SO FAR ALL IS LOOKING OKAY. LOTS OF LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. ANNETTE QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA.
I think you should start an online tutorial classes. Choose a plant that are for beginners once a month, then and describe what kind of plant it is, how to water it, what kinds of soil it likes, it’s sun preferences etc. Your viewers then can build their plant collection and feel safe knowing how to care for it. 😊
@@PlantswithKrystal this would honestly be so helpful!! I started getting into plants in September 2022 when I got an orchid & followed your tiktok about caring for orchids! Since then it’s done really well(it has 27 blooms!), & I’ve acquired some more plants including a spider plant, hydrangea, monstera, mint, dill, & basil! I’d love to hear your tips for those!!
Honestly I couldn’t care less about the music or whether you use your phone or a camera to record etc 😂 Seeing you, watching your videos is like catching up with a friend ❤ you do you, whatever you like, however you can, at your own pace and in peace 👍🏻 gonna be watching still regardless ☺️ Lots of ❤ to you and your plant babies ❤️🪴
I think what you really have going for you outside of plant knowledge is your personality! You’re fun to watch. As you get more comfortable with filming these long videos more of yourself will shine through. :)
Video idea: I think you should do a long video montage of all your reels. I would absolutely love to see and hear them all while I’m working and then I don’t have to scroll to each one. I bet it would get a lot of views. We love when you’re silly ❤.
I've gone from just a couple of plants in my bedroom to about a dozen with more spread throughout the house. Your shorts have helped me with some of the issues I am currently having with my rescued Peace Lily. Your personality makes your videos so much more fun to watch than other plant videos I've seen. Thank you for your content. I look forward to your next video, whether it is a short or full-length video. 🌵
Appreciate you and your hard work. I hate using computers so I admire your ability to edit, and frankly I think this amount of editing/pizazz is fine, I watch for the plant information and comedy, it's hard to find funny informative plant videos. Your dogs are adorable!
Have you considered getting a small greenhouse for your backyard to do plant work/videos in? That’s one way to avoid the elements. Thank you for the videos!!❤❤ Also! It feels really conversational to not have music. It’s like you invited us over for a planty afternoon.
Please don’t add music. Your videos are perfect. Length, content, straight to the point but still showing your personality. Love it. Keep ‘em coming. My plants need you 🥲😆🥹🤣
Recently I saw someone wet down their perlite before pouring it into their mix and it was a game changer for me 😅 Also, I mix mosquito bits in my soil to cut down on the gnats. If they aren't on the top of the soil they don't mold
Girl, you are so entertaining! I love your voice! You are totally sweet to me! So please make your videos as long as you can? I watch as many of your vlogs as soon as see them
Yay!!!💚 You're my favourite plant-tuber! I adore your long form content and you've taught me so much on my new and most favored hobby. (Aka lifestyle) You have such a gift. Hilarity/relatabilty/intelligence... It's lovely :)
I absolutely adore all the space there is between houses and how quiet it seems. I live in a busy city where there’s ambulances, police cars, loud music, loud neighbors constantly and it’s taking a huge toll in my mental state. If my child didn’t had such a tight relationship with her father I would’ve left to the Midwest a long time ago. I can only hope to be able to save enough money, make some smart financial decisions and be able to purchase somewhere outside of this city by next year, but with this inflation coupled with low wages Im afraid it’ll take a long time for a single parent to do it.
I LOVED this video!! I definitely have a plant addiction (over 50 now!) and I’ve learned so much from your Instagram! & this video was a good reminder that I don’t have to always pot up, I tend to mindlessly pot up all the time even when sometimes I shouldn’t 😅
Love any form of content you can give us. Here for your wonderful personality and plant knowledge. Commend (and appreciate) you taking on the challenging world of RU-vid and bringing us on this beefy journey with you
This was a very chilled out episode. Love your outdoor home environment - looks like heaven. Hope u consider some outdoor plant experiences this summer - even tho', as u may say, u may "suck" at it haha. Maybe Mom or a friend can help. 💚 this planty-time, in any format, dancing or not.
KRYSTAL WE LOVE YOU PERIOD, NOT CAUSE OF YOUR EDITING OR ANYTHING ELSE YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT NOT DOING GOOD ENOUGH. Your personality is like sunshine. It's genuine and warm and we appreciate how down to earth and relatable you are. We're here for the long haul babes.
I just heard that you lost your husband. I am so sad for you! My ❤ goes out for you. Your advice is right on! Hang with what makes your ❤ happy! Plants, family, pets, what ever! I love your videos! So glad you are making more long videos!
I've started rescuing plants! I love your videos, and I've found a lot of great knowledge from them! I'm up to 44 house plants and 3- 72 cell seedlings trays! I'm going to have an outside garden this year 2 times bigger than last year. Thank you for the confidence I've gained from watching your videos!
I've stumbled across your videos, and your personality immediately hooked me in. Who thought a plant care tutorial could make me laugh out loud?! You are such a fun person and now have a new subscriber! Thank you for your hard work with these videos 😊
I know I'm late but you asked for feedback on your videos...personally I think they're perfect just the way they are. I love your content and delivery. I have learned a lot in a short time because all your videos are informative and on point. Thanks so much! Keep at it 🌵🪴❤
I’m not sure if I’m going against the grain but I have watched all of your videos and shorts and have never even noticed that there isn’t music playing. I really think that no music leads to a more personal feel, in general. I don’t mind any kind of intro or transitional music as that can be very nice. Whatever you do I love your videos, whether they’re long or short, so do whatever makes you happiest! ❤❤❤ Just your personality shining through is ✨everything✨ I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have some ‘Cact-ASS pictures living in my house! And ‘The People’s Elbow’ kills me every time 💀 ☠️ 💀 😂
I am just starting my YT channel and the struggle is real. I hear you on the learning curve. It is steep but you are doing fine! I love watching without the music.
Hi Krystal, I have NEVER been successful with house plants, I would tell people not to give me plants as it was cruelty to plants but last November my husband got me an orchid, it did not die this intrigued be so I got a spider plant, omg they are still alive and I lost my fear and now have a small collection and then I found you , you are the best thank you for the information and the encouragement
Thank you for this video. I realized that my peace lily is in too large of a pot. I am going to move it to a smaller one (aka….an empty gallon water bottle that I will diy into a flower pot). Looking forward to more of your long form content. Cheers! 🎉😊
Thanks so much. I absolutely love your videos. I am now in pursuit of that boot tray. I also wanted to know your take on leca? I currently use soil and I’m a new plant mom so I don’t want to over due something and kill my plants.
I thought you were joking when you said they were all the same pot. But then they're lined up and yep. They're the same. Gotta love trending tropicals. And thank you for always reminding people to not breathe in perlite dust!
This was awesome! I enjoyed spending a little extra time with you in this video and the editing was great! Keep up the great work, and try not to feel pressured to do what everyone else puts out! I think the beuty in your videos is your fun personality and your great way of presenting facts and what works for you. I personally love seeing how people go about doing things so this was nice to 'come along' on a potting up journey!
All my life, learning to care for plants, I read to NEVER expose the roots to air!! That’s obviously wrong! I love watching you rescue and repot your botanical family! You go girl! 🥰
Plant lover but killer here and when you say you haven't repotted in "a very long time" what exactly do you consider a long time? Months? years? I don't think I repot my plants enough.
Thank you so much! It all depends on the individual plant. You may notice the plant no longer is taking in moisture like it should or the soil is looking very old and brittle. You may also notice a plant is not doing well so you’ll need to see the cause or maybe a plant is very root bound and it needs a bigger size.
You talking and making jokes and being yourself is way better than music 🥺 I came for the vibes not royalty free music over a repotting video. We can get those anywhere but there’s just one you.
when you showed the hole in the soil of your pothos i nearly SCREAMED because i have had the exact same thing happening with some of my plants!! we have a bad mouse infestation this winter, and i keep finding burrows dug in my plants' soil, sometimes 3-4 inches deep, and it's driving me insane 😭 it's not a permanent solution, but mice dislike strong smelling oils like orange and peppermint, so dabbing some of those onto the pot and/or soil can help repel them, at least for a bit!
I love your videos so much! Several months ago I saved 2 orchids, one had rotted all the way to the leaves the other just had some root rot that I was able to cut away. The one that was rotted to the leaves only had one tiny root growing. I saw that you propagated one of your orchids so I thought that might be the best case for this little guy. It worked!! New roots have started growing like crazy! I change the water every couple of days to improve its oxygen quality but, you helped me immensely! The other one has a new leaf and a bloom!
Orchid bark is much cleaner and sorted in size. Aroids don't give a damn about that. Definitely get the cheap stuff. Coco coir chunks are also an option. Even more bank for your buck.
Need insight. In my area, it is hard to find orchid bark. Buying online costs tons of shipping fees. We do have sawdust and wood dust. Would you recommend it? Thank you.
Hello, my name is Vicky. We also have a RU-vid Channel Vicky's Likes. We just found your channel because we love plants and we have been putting out videos of orchids and bonsai. I was born in Argentina. What is your nationality? I ask because of the word pronunciation "tantear". Nice content. Keep up your good work.🌺🌵🪴
I'm loving your mixture, except the soil. No soil for me cause I don't like BUGS. In place of the soil I use bonsai rocks. New to your page, loving the content. Subscribed
I love your videos Christal and you explain what you are doing. I have always been a garden person. But the past couple years I have added more house plants to my collection. I love the monstera and the philodendron. I love large plants but no room for a lot of them. So I only have a few. Plants to me are a way of relaxing and having fun with different pots. 🤷♀️
Can you show me what to do for succulent soil mixes? I feel like what I've got going on isn't working for them Also, girl, get yourself some 5 gallon buckets for your soil storage to not worry about any pests getting in an opened bag
I don't think that you need to add music to your long form videos.. But I do think that you should add ambient noise from the room or type of space that you are in. Having just the mic attached to you makes it sound like we're in a sound proof room together and are up in each others' business. Love your videos though, and I know that your long form will get way better, I've only seen a few of the newer longer videos, but I love your short form content too
I have a HUGE HUGE peace lily in the biggest pot I could find and almost carry. ( need help). What do you do when the leaves start turning brown?!?! HELP Not all of them but many?!?!?! Note I Got it 4 years ago from my Mother’s Funeral. I named her Gwen after my mom. I suddenly stop killing plants so I REALLY want her to thrive. Also should I put sticks in the pot. The leaves are huge but leaning down. I wish I could send a picture… PLEASE RESPOND. This plant means a lot to me. Thanks 💜💜🫰🏾🫰🏾😊
Keep doing what you’re doing. You educate and entertain in your own way. I love a good pothos too! I’m enjoying collecting and learning about the many varieties. I’m also inspired by your journey. I’ve been growing plants for years and there is always something more to learn and share. 🌱❤️
I prefer no music! I would much rather just listen to you! You make me smile and I’m learning so much from you. I’m a new plant mom and have a lot to learn!!!!! Thank you for all your help!
I'm new to your channel, but I love your content and personality! Repotting questions: If I'm using "Miracle Gro indoor potting mix" that contains Perlite, should I add more? Should I add Bark or Coco Coir to the mix I mentioned? I'm really new to all of this. This will only be my second time repotting, and my 1st time, I used a few containers that are too big. I thought they would just grow bigger. 🤦🏻♀️😅 I haven't killed any (yet), but they're struggling.
I like ur videos. Have only seen about 5 and already subscribed. I was watering my succulents yesterday and out of nowhere, I found myself saying Drown That Ho! 😂😂😂 I was laughing by myself. I think that might be permanently emblazoned in my brain. Thanks for that. 😂
Krystal I really enjoyed this video I’m a new subscriber to your channel. Have you ever used vermiculite in your soil mixtures to retain moisture? I’m gonna be doing a peace lily that is my friends and I want to do a great job. I already have the vermiculite I do not have coco coir Thanks. 🙏🏻ps you’re doing a great job.
I’ve been lucky in my journey so far and haven’t smelled THE ROT. I think Monstera, pothos, and some succulents are my favs so far, my Hoya compacta (Hindu rope) I just ordered in from Vancouver for the first time, I’m in love
Could you explain which setting on your indoor lights you use? The mulitple colors confuse me!!! I never know which color setting to use for my indoor plant collection!!!! Help me!!!!
I think you'd make a great semi-dry kind of awkward comedian. I'd pay to see you on a comic stage. 🤷🏿♂️ Anyway, thanks for the pothos tips, just potted one and I'm propagating another. Looking forward to their growth. Happy International Women's Day. 😌
