In the second story we learn that Samuel has moved to Sydney’s Long bay Gaol. There he has become involved with the Never Going Back program.
The program, a justice reinvestment initiative, helps to break the prison cycle by teaching inmates the skills to adjust to life on the outside and never go back to gaol. The story follows Samuel as he rises each morning to travel to a gym in Redfern. We also film him inside Long Bay where he tells us about his efforts to reform and to avoid going back to prison. Significantly he has a message for young offenders when he tells us that “don’t think coming to gaol makes you cool or tough … because at the end of the day it makes you stupid and weak.”
Never Going Back is a joint initiative between Redfern Police, Long Bay gaol, TAFE NSW, the Department of Corrective Services and the Tribal Warrior Association.

It’s good to see a positive story like this. It’s always doom and gloom so it’s nice to see this. I was uneducated on the Aboriginal story so I was ignorant and racist. When I learnt what our Aboriginal people went through..... Broke my heart. I can’t imagine it. I correct anyone that speaks negative on Aboriginal topics. Full respect for any man that puts his heart into it and turns his life around like Sam 👍 Good on you mate.

I'm sorry but there is absolutely no rehabilitation in any jail and I know this from personal experience.

Olivia depends on your definition of rehabilitation, alot of people just have enough of doing time and change their ways when they get out, I speak from personal experience too
