This video took so insanely long to make so thank you all for being patient. I can finally go back to posting videos regularly now that his project is done. Any kind of support is greatly appreciated, and if you have anything that I missed, drop a comment
Just finished it. Originally put it on as something to listen to while I grind races on the crew motorfest, but after about 20 minutes, I paused the game to listen to the video and ended up watching all the way through. This was well worth the time and effort. Also, the shipping fandoms are much more toxic than they seem. Scrolled past a few community posts of pretty much every ship, and they're always at each other's throats for the littlest things. I messed with an Amourshipper comment that was a bit *too* into Ash and Serena by simply saying "Ash just calls Serena an "old friend" in journeys", and I got several death threats within a few hours.
Mato actually did explain her illness that stopped her from drawing the adventures manga. On Twitter, she explains that she got wrist tendonitis, where the person gets inflammation in their tendon, making usage of that tendon painful. So she could no longer draw because of it.
@AnneALias it's not, it's usually caused by extreme stress/usage of a particular tendon. Artists, musicians, chefs, anyone who uses many repetitive wrist movements are prone to developing tendinitis
This is the only pokémon iceberg that surprised me with every entry. Most icebergs are just a list of well known trivia, this one was wild, not only you told a bunch of trivias and rumor I've never knew, hut you also managed to really explain every entry instead.of just glossong over them. 10/10
1:50:18 Maybe this is why Ghetsis refers to N as like an inhuman freak... Speaking of Ghetsis, I've heard a theory that his Hydreigon is the one that burned his arm, because in Black2/White2 that thing has a max-power Frustration in its moveset, meaning it _absolutely hates_ him.
The reason why Ghetsis called N an inhuman freak is because N's character is likely based on the concept "Mushin" which is the state of mind Taoist meditators attempt to achieve, wherein there is pure innocence and no knowledge of good and evil. This also translates to "no heart", which also a term Ghetsis used to refer N
N understanding pokemon is actually just a clever trick. From the anime we know that a Zoroark's illusions can affect the material world and even perception, and from the game we know N has a Zoroark. He had his Zoroark give him the illusion of being able to understand pokemon, but since the Zoroark understand its fellow pokemon, it just translates correctly what the pokemon around him are really talking, and thus the "illusion" is then made "real". Source: it was revealed to me in a dream.
Black was my first pokémon game since yellow that I played a few years back and this was my head cannon too. It sucks the anime didn't really give us more episodes where pokémon could understand each other and spoke like people. I remember there being the pokémon Island that turned out to be a theme park lol and maybe a few others but it would have been cool if we had more pokémon that spoke like Meowth.
Exactly! Also, from what I can tell, Cyclizar also runs on its legs, likely making the wheel simply an evolutionary trait. Simply having a space where the wheel can spin or having the wheel spin as-is seems pretty unconventional considering that the wheel is close to Koraidon's neck.
Hammerlock’s Ghost Girl is actually quite wholesome. She just wanted to say goodbye to her friend before she passed on. Also, Ash’s journey ending is kinda bittersweet. We may love poking fun at Ash, but we’d miss him.
yo mad respect to you for not censoring yourself like so many other RU-vidrs. I've listened to icebergs about disturbing topics where the narrator will speak of gruesome things and then censor the f word. And here you are on pokemon saying what you want. Commendable sincerely
2:07:12 this is actually untrue. There's a rare blood allele mutation called cis-AB that produces both A and B antigens in one gene, causing them to have AB-O gene instead of A-B gene in regular AB blood type. It is possible for Silver to be Giovanni's son if Giovanni has cis-AB with O as his second allele and his wife having O type blood.
Ash actually is stated to still be 10 in Journeys iirc. So yeah the games universe has the rule where you need to be at least 11 years old to do the Island Challenge, but that could just not be a thing in the anime. I mean the anime universe also has a rule that doesn’t exist in the games, that being that you can’t be a trainer until you’re at least 10 years old.
The Pokemon Brick Bronze "remake" is actually a rip of the original game by other people. The original devs are not happy with this, as not only the copy's devs are ripping their work, but also the latter make money from it Also it violates Roblox's guidelines
2:16:09 Okay that theory about a great war wiping out a chunk of the male population, hence why so many peeple in the pokemon universe are fatherless and the fact that gyms are literally designed to make strong soldiers fit for war is so dark and grim and I absolutely love it. It adds so much depth to the universe.
1:50:52 Mewtwo having a human DNA is a solid fact, since in the manga Blaine literally says that he used his blood cells to create a Mewtwo and they even have some kind of bond, allowing Blaine to sense the Mewtwo's location. Additionally his gym is placed right next to the mansion, where the Mewtwo was made.
Actually Pikachu doesn't technically talk in the I choose you movie as its all in Ash's head and meant to show off how Ash has come to understand Pikachu. Female voice was just used since they wanted a high pitch voice for a mouse.
Waterflower being used as Misty’s last name is just a fandom thing. I’m nearing thirty years old but back when I was in middle school we used to use that as her last name in fanfics. lol
1:04:51 He explicitly says it was an Iron Treads/Great Tusk (depending on version) when you encounter one in Area Zero and does indeed shout at it in anger. He might also mention it when you face the titan version earlier in the game which might be why they chose that it specifically to be one
I was so tired to see almost every other iceberg going…not so deep at all ! So thank you ! About G-Cis : not a Jesus reference. Junichi Masuda said : "I checked if there’s a sinister music tone. And I found out there is one. Tritone. It’s called ‘The Devil in Music’…So I named Ghetsis after this. Here’s an explanation. A musical G note is pronounced "Ghe" in German, and a C sharp note is pronounced "tsis". Above two notes’ chords are a tricode. This is how Ghetsis got his name, and of course his battle theme is based on it too…It’s a little spooky isn’t it ?" Props to Dr. Lava. Don’t know about Gropius part, but as Abyssal Ruins tend to suggest, Harmonia is the Unovan royal family name.
I was looking for this comment! I think the use of a tritone is excellent coding for his sinister nature! About the name Gropius: N has it also. It could be in relation to Walter Gropius, the architect. Makes sense for N due to his fascination with the mechanics of ferris wheels. But Ghetsis? I don’t think it fits as neatly. I guess you could make a connection between the Templars (which Team Plasma are based on) entering into Freemasonry at a later stage. And also the fact that the top of Ghetsis’ robe looks like a battlement. It’s interesting to ponder.
21:02 An overheard phone conversation between Penny and her dad in Mochi Mayhem has her mention him saying 'Adven-tour' a term so far only used by Peony, so yeah, basically confirmed now.
I think what you mentioned about Arven is that he’s referring to either Koraidon or Miraidon. It may not be named specifically but adds some more depth to the ending and makes it feel satisfying to take them down
I remember that during the Pokemania of the late 90s in the local Walmart there was a whole aisle dedicated to Pokémon merch in the toy section. There was the girl's toys aisle, the Boy's toys aisle, the unisex aisle and the Pokémon aisle, it full to the brim with plushies, figurines and all sorts of products. Pokémon was insanely huge, bigger than during the Pokémon Go craze which is surprising considering that Pokémon Go appealed to a bigger demographic whereas in the late 9ps it was mostly kids and nerds
I forget where, I heard this: but I like the idea that Lt Surge isn't from Unova, but Alola. Would still make sense if he's suppose to be American since it's based off of Hawaii. Plus, there's a the tourist attraction that pays homage to his own gym.
Dear Rouge, Great video! However, on behalf of the Loomian Legacy community I would like to ask that you DO NOT promote newer copies of Pokémon Brick Bronze. NONE of them are from the original creators and ALL of them go against the creators wishes. In addition, discord servers and other things behind the scene of these PBB clones are known to be EXTREMELY shady. Instead, I ask that you talk about Loomian Legacy, the real re-upload of Brick Bronze. Made by the same developers, it is a “unique” creature capture game with a different story, creatures to fight with, and (mostly) characters. The developers themselves have stated their grievances against the PBB clones, and ask that they are not promoted instead of their actual original game. I hope I didn’t come across as rude, and I understand this an EASY mistake to make. Have a GREAT day!
Man hearing the original thoughts for how the pokemon series would go and it's ending is so dark it is intriguing. I kinda wish we got to see it play out in some way.
Some stuff that's actually different from what's said in this video/additions: 1. "I herd u liek mudkipz" has a much darker backstory. It originates from a middle school bathroom wherein a kid who liked mudkip was caught masturbating to a mudkip plushie and the guy who caught him went out into the hall and told the other kids what he'd found, a few seconds later the kid came out of the bathroom and one of the bystanders says "I heard you like mudkips" and starts dry humping his backpack in a taunting way. The rest of the kids nearby copied these antics and the kid broke down into tears from all the bullying. The phrase became a popular "joke" around the school for a time until one user decided to post the story to 4chan. Another 4chan user thought it would be funny to make it into an internet fad and the original story was almost entirely forgotten. There are probably very few who remember. 2. Parasect actually had 4 double weaknesses. The 4th one being Ice (Ice used to be super effective against bug in generation 1). 3. Pokemon Z. According to interviews (I don't remember when/where/who sorry), Pokemon Z was actually a planned game that ended up getting cut due to time constraints. It just wasn't coming together in way that the team felt good about so it was scrapped. 4. Clouded area in Paldea: Might as well be Voldemort because Pokemon is copyright claiming anyone who goes there. You can get there after completing a side-quest that opens up after completing the main story of the Indigo Disk DLC, but that's all I can say without getting my comment deleted. 5. Armored Mewtwo: This was trademarked due to the existence of it in the first generation of the Pokemon anime series where Gary is seen battling against Giovanni. Giovanni uses an armored Mewtwo in the battle to win against Gary. Soon after, Ash runs into Gary and Gary is seemingly depressed; remarking "It was unlike any Pokemon we've ever faced before. It's too powerful." 6. Pokemon Duel: was really fun and it would be nice for it to come back sometime without the "pay to win" mechanics. A bit like checkers but with an RNG twist. It also had its own lore which was pretty cool. 7. Rock type fossils: Sword and Shield having several non-rock type fossils easily debunks this. Arctozolt, Dracovish, etc. 8. Alolan Ash: If you watch the anime, yes, they made an exception. It's briefly mentioned in the first episode while Ash is talking to Oak/his mom (forgot which) on the phone and someone mentions to have "taken care of all the hoops/tape for you" ("you" being Ash, and "hoops/tape" being the restrictions which would've prevented Ash from participating). 9. Silver's father: Actually, the O blood type can accept any type of blood because that's just how O rolls I guess (Idk the details here), but basically, if Silver's mother is AB, then Silver can also be AB since the O type is the recessive/dormant gene. 10. Furrybait starters: I wouldn't be surprised if Lopunny was the beta test for this. 11. At 2 hours and 13 minutes into the video: Can we talk about the completely pitch-black Pikachu in the background? 12. Tentaquill: The OG sprite actually looks quite a lot like Bellibolt. 13. DistantKingdom: TL:DR; Pedophilia is an attraction to minors. It's not the same as sexual assault of a minor (or CSAM). People often mistake "Pedophilia" to mean "person who sexually assaults minors". There is a difference. DistantKingdom was trying to get the other parties involved in the conversation to realize that without directly saying it. I have no idea why he did this, but Twitter users will be Twitter users. Great video and I applaud the amount of research and effort you've put into this. Quite a few things I didn't know about. Thanks. Hopefully the above has cleared up any uncertainties/misconceptions. I also hope you get more views because your style of video is very entertaining.
as I have watched almost every pokemon iceberg that exists on youtube over the past 6 months....thank you. can confirm this is one of the best on youtube.
When pokemon hit the UK, I was about 10 years old in 1998 it aired on ITV and still does to this day, and for some reason, Disney XD. There was an ITV block called SMTV before CITV was a thing where Ant and Dec acted out as Gary and Misty before the show started. I guess cat didn't want to be involved
2:21:18 the The People and pokemon getting married thing happened in the ancient past when people and Pokemon were the same. Meaning the difference was similar to primates and the first step to people.
About Tyranitartube gatekeepers Extreme Randomizer. The reason could boil down to the fact that he lost the data from his old pc which led to the reason why some of his other let's plays like sun extreme randomizer got canceled. So he wouldn't be able to release it even if he wanted to.
@TheRogueRenegade Rouge ik you read your comments can you do a poll on which character would eat the fiber glass in the attic Beacause they thought it would be cotton candy
Somebody did find the source of the creepy jigglypuff (Purin. I believe that's specifically Purin 13 or 14) image. It's from a Japenese pokemon artist don't remember the nsme but they make really cool stuff and they're seemingly still active
I don’t think that’s the real misfortune game though, it must’ve been a fan creation. Maybe misfortune finally found god and was redeemed to be born again as a Pokémon or something
DVs are what they were called in Gen I/II, because of how they worked. Attack, defense, speed, and special were the 4 stored values, that were used to determine the HP value.
Pikachu's Goodbye imo is when the Pokemon anime was gonna get canceled for good. But the fans kept it alive and then the anime came back. Buuuut if it was in development during the 4 months then it could disprove what I just said.
im not gonna lie, the mix of how your voice sounds, how your character is drawn, and the style of editing you have is perfect for long videos like this, but i completely understand the reasons why this isnt every video
I know you said you made this video to prove how lazy some of these kind of videos can be but I’m loving these facts even if I know some of them. It’s nice just to hear so much about something you like. Thanks for making it!
Ok so the Kyurem movie was the first pokemon movie I had ever watched as a child, and Kyurem was an absolute Idol to me in monster status because of how OP it was. So Legends Kyurem better be the next step.
My personal theory on the future Paradox Pokémon is that in their timeline they were created after some form of worldwide event sending hundreds of different species of Pokémon extinct. Specifically hitting Unova the hardest which is why they recreated things like the swords of justice and the pseudo legendary to feel safe protected by the strongest
this whole video was fantastic, but the serotonin boost i got seeing pokespe silver 2 hours in was ridiculous lmao. amazing work, i didn’t know a good chunk of these!
I agree that they want a reason to get rid of mega evolutions, but it is similar to new discoveries in reality. A lot of times we discover new things, like asbestos, and we use it a lot and it seems really fun and new and great.... and then we realize that there's actually a downside to it and we shouldn't be using it so much or at all. Humans love using new discoveries willy nilly without worrying about hidden or long term downsides. It's very plausible mega evolutions were seen as new and great and only after time passed and they researched it more did they realize it's actually bad for Pokemon to go through mega evolution. In universe, what Gamefreak is doing works really well. But yeah, again, they just needed a reason to stop having mega evolutions in every game lol.
Legends Arceus is supposed to take place in the equivalent of the late 1800’s, right around the time the industrial revolution was occurring. That was also about the time Japan was being forced to accept outside trade, thus the odd combination of traditional Japanese and European styles.
1:24:50 Yes, they made an exception because Ash was on a vacation for the entire Alola series. He is still mentioned to be 10 in advertisement for journeys
The brock "for the girls" song is literally a precious memory from my childhood and you reawakened it. I specifically remember the "so live on, ole" lyric and how brock repeated it multiple times to entertain the kids shown while ash was away saving the day. On top of that, the japanese version of the "to be a pokemon master" episodes of the anime brought back a lot of old openings and endings and this was one of them (that I absolutely loved) you connected these things for me and that just makes me so happy 💀great vid all around this was def my fav entry
I don’t think you mentioned it, but the updated version of Pokémon Brick Bronze you played is a re-uploaded version, which has custom made content that wasn’t in the original. The Roblox game Loomian Legacy is made from the original developers, and is a continuation of the story and features their own "Fakemon".
2:36:40 there is actually a theory that claims that all of the first Ultra Beasts are based on the 7 sins (so not counting Necrozma and USUM’s inclusions). While i dont remember all, i know that pheromosa would be lust, and Guzzlord Gluttony
@@TheRogueRenegade also he was a troll for the sonic community in the early 2010s were he said modern sonic had hentai quills of course it was also another trolling thing
Actually about Mega Evolution. Yes, it puts the Pokémon in undescribable pain, but the anime seems to show that the bond between the human and the Pokémon seems to help the Pokémon stand that pain and not go bonkers because of it, as shown between Korrina and her Lucario. So the power of friendship does have a role, and it explains why only the most talented trainers can use Mega Evolution. Only the ones who have a bond stronger than that pain with their Pokémon can master it, and that's not something your average trainer on a Route has. Even Korrina, a Gym Leader, struggled to master it. Of course in the games we have no problem with that because we're a Mary Sue protagonist, and the bond with our Pokémon is strong enough by default.
before people get mad at 2:08:12 for him saying degenerates, just know he was talking about people who have a sexual atraction and make nsfw art of pokemon, he was not trying to slander furrys, just people have an attraction toward the pokemon. hope this clears things up. I dont want yall to think hes being rude. he even confirmed this in a comment. have a good day 👍
39:42 ah yes Minnesota, the state that invaded North and South Dakota. Also correction: 1:55:54 Toxapex actually got Scald back with the Teal Mask DLC. And another thing to point out, as for Legends Arceus' timeline: the game takes place in Hisui, which becmes Sinnoh in the future. The region's inspired by the island of Hokkaido, which was once called Esochi by the Japanese. It was inhabited by the Ainu people and slowly was colonized by the Japanese, until the lae 19th century, during the Meiji era when colonization efforts were intensified so as to avoid the Russians taking over the island. What we see in PLA is pretty much the colonization of Hisui, which would eventually becomes Sinnoh, and many of the technologies and architecture are typical Meiji Restoration Japanese structures. This means PLA likely takes place between 170 and 150 years ago, so only shy of 200 years ago.
ykno how indepth and the fact I learned stuff from this fuels me to finish my pokemon iceburg, but it isnt on general pokemon facts. nonono, Im diving deep into pokemon glitches lol. so many people regurgitate the same shit in every lore iceburg that its refreshing to see one that is actually unique!
The end of the iceberg was crazy. I'd say I know a lot of trivia, but I hadn't heard about 12 of the last 15 entries. I also hope the video about 2:38:46 happens, but no matter what, thanks for this mega-super-deluxe and knuckles iceberg video.
As an avid Anipoke fan, I am happy to admit that the Soak thing is indeed canon! :D It's brought up in the Sun and Moon anime- covering Ground types in natural water has a similar effect to the move Soak, which is why Pikachu was able to use electric attacks on a Piloswine and Onix. It's a very interesting continuity thing!
You really put so much time and effort into this video! Congrats on your hard work 🎊 didn’t even know soo many facts in this video like the original Pokémon dinosaur movie one.
Did you know that Wikstrom's pokeballs in his official artwork are yellow for some reason? That's not the only error in the official artwork. Mega Alakazam's official art uees its shiny colors for some odd reason
