Y’know, I always imagined that for kids that lived in the cities where the harder gyms are, being sent out to go run the gauntlet was less being sent off into the wide world to find their futures and more being sent out to get stronger for a great homecoming.

@@Talimara1 that would be pretty interesting, since we've seen it before having to skip gyms in previous town just to come back later, like in gen 1 and 3

@@ItsFelix_ true we literally skip the first gym in pokemon's history (diferent reasons, but lvl5 charmander isn't even a joke for giovanni anyways)

At least it'd be an encouragement to better yourself and your Pokemon, I guess… probably shouldn't be a first Gym Leader, tho.

I love electric!

My two favorite types are Electric and Fire but Fire ends up winning first place in my heart by just slightly more so I would be a Fire Gym leader.

Hopefully the developers of this ROM Hack, go and make a sequel. Here's my idea: It would be good if they do one, where there is a Main Screen. Here you basically start off by numbering all the 18 different Pokemon Types from the best to least favourite. Then you start the game as your favourite, you choose a name, character style, and starter Pokemon. Then you have a "Mini Game" as a Gym leader with that type. After a short-while you win that segment, and it then brings you to the Main Screen and continues to your least favourite type (last choice). You again choose a name, character style, and starter Pokemon. Then have a different adventure. And after beating that Mini Game, again it brings you to the Main Screen, and this time to the second-last choice. You do that until you've experienced playing as the "Gym Leader" for all different types. But each time you start off with higher and higher levels, so it's not just rinsing with Lv 5 creatures. There is also an interwoven story with it all. And then a post-game section where it brings you back to your Favourite Typing. Here you see your Starter Pokemon, your initial squad has been levelled up, and there's interesting choices in your PC Box. You can grind a bit as well. And this post-game section then has you visiting all the other Gym Leaders you played before as. You attempt to beat them all. Then you are made as an Elite Four, where your Favourite is the last option, but you can choose the other three. You defeat a handful of trainers, until you face-off against "The Champion" and ultimately get defeated.

Usual ranking of Pokemon Types: (worst to best) Bug, Poison, Ice, Normal, Rock, Flying, Psychic, Fighting, Grass, Ghost, Dark, Electric, Ground, Water, Fire, Fairy, Dragon, Steel.

My first try was a bug type gym leader. It was hard because there are barely any decent bug type in the game, especially a tanky bug pokemon...hence I have to rely on other type of pokemon for that role (theres no shuckle sadly). This made my team a 4/6 bug type. Its still fun tho, I only lost when the challengers' pokemons are higher lvl than me ( happened twice, i forgot to train).

Especially since you can show your power through strategic genius rather than just raw power. Area 1 Bug types do rely on poison damage and lowering speed so you could set up some good plays

A Ground or Poison type gym with Nidoqueen would be crazy tbh..

is ghost really one of the strongest types?

@@arynoob1392 in Generation 1 Ghost types were immune to normal moves and most Pokemon had a ton of normal moves in their learnset. And the Gengar line had Levitate until Gen 8, so it only had 3 weaknesses. Ghost also hits Psychic types, one of the hardest hitting types before Fairy, for super effective damage. Finally, Ghost types are naturally immune to Normal and Fighting moves, so some of the better Pokemon in the game are Ghost types. This is my opinion tho so feel free to disagree.

@@arynoob1392 yes. Ghost is very strong offensively as only dark resists it and normal isn't affect, neither of which are exceptional defensive typings. Ghost also benefits from having 2 immunities, one is to fighting which is a very strong offensive type and the other is to normal and normal moves are easily the most common moves in a playthrough.

A high level grass type gym could actually be really solid and difficult to beat if you built it right there’s a lot of spore spammers and good dual types out there but game freak always makes the grass gyms low level

@@blazeray1000 it was really difficult and the game itself was hard too. Not that many people played it so your really had to test things out and figure out what Pokémon are where. Hell there were more dragons at first than there were fire types. The game also stops you from continuing until you have a certain amount of Pokémon to battle with (either of the same type or one that can learn the signature move) They give you a starter but for fire I chose growlithe and immediately bought a fire stone. There was almost no fire types so you have to choose a Pokémon that learns flamethrower. I can’t remember my whole team but I know I had Growlithe, talonflame, magmar (which was water/fire), dragonite and I can’t remember the the other two.

@Brianna M Ah. Thanks for explaining it so well. Fire is my favorite typing by far so I'd be willing to explore just to find any new fire combos. Just wish it was a more mobile friendly rom hack lol
