Lyrics:
Just a castaway, an island lost at sea, oh
Another lonely day with no one here but me, oh
More loneliness than any man could bear
Rescue me before I fall into despair, oh
I'll send an SOS to the world
I'll send an SOS to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle (Yeah)
Message in a bottle (Yeah)
A year has passed since I wrote my note
I should have known this right from the start
Only hope can keep me together
Love can mend your life, but love can break your heart
I'll send an SOS to the world
I'll send an SOS to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle (Yeah)
Message in a bottle (Yeah)
(Oh) Message in a bottle (Yeah)
Message in a bottle (Yeah)
Walked out this morning, don't believe what I saw
Hundred billion bottles washed up on the shore
Seems I'm not alone at being alone
Hundred billion castaways looking for a home
I'll send an SOS to the world
I'll send an SOS to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle (Yeah)
Message in a bottle (Yeah)
Message in a bottle (Oh)
Message in a bottle (Yeah)
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
I'm sending out an SOS
I'm sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an SOS
Sending out an Esso Blue

Being born in 1960 was a true blessing. The Beatles, the Stones, the Kinks, the Hollies, Gerry and the Pacemakers, the Who, Steely Dan, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, the Doors, David Bowie, Tina Turner, AC/DC, Creedence, The Police, The Clash, Graham Parker, Elvis Costello, the Beach Boys, Motown, Prince, …it goes on and on and on and on. I KNOW I shouldn’t compare…..so I’ll just say I’m grateful for my musical upbringing.

@@irishtino1595 But the 70s had all these bands………plus the Doobie Brothers, Carol King’s Tapestry, James Taylor, Police, Peter Jackson, Springsteen, Peter Tosh, etc etc etc…. and while disco wasn’t my thing you can’t look past some of the Bee Gees stuff, plus Devo, the Jam, The Saints, Ramones, B52s….the whole New Wave movement. There were some 70’s low lights, but most of it was AMAZING.

Thank you RU-vid for enabling us to see this video. I had the Police's hits recorded on a tape back in the day when I was a kid. I was too young to go out and see them live. The eighties was pretty grim for most working -class people in London. The highlight was -some- of the music. The Police was one of the bands I first got into, along side the Jam and the Rolling Stones. The music from good bands never dies!

that's why if guys are intelligent enough that wanted to make it in pop rock, then study everything you can; mainly jazz, which got more important than ever in the 80s to have something else to fall back on. one girl i was involved with briefly in the 90s, didn't like his playing, and i knew right off the bat it was because she didn't understand what he was doing at all. so, you can have the brains and talent, but you still need to understand how to make something like Stuy's drumming work.
