THIS STORY:
It was the summer of 1945. Gladys Broadhurst, while still married to her fifth husband Lester Merle Lincoln, hatched a plan to entrap Dr. Willis D. Broadburst, a wealthy Caldwell, Idaho, physician and rancher.
She had known the doctor for most of her life and was fully aware that he had accumulated considerable wealth. The attractive, red-headed woman came up with what she thought would be the ideal plan to snag him. She concocted two stories -- one that her aunt had died in Hawaii and left her some $3 million; the other that she was a widow, being pursued by the identical twin brother of her late husband who was killed overseas. His name was Lester, and he was a greedy, evil and twisted man. Then, she lured in a gullible young ranch hand to do her bidding.
Things were going to get out of control, with Gladys holding all the puppet strings.

Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.

The grave you walked by that had 3 hearts was that of a mother and her 2 children who were murdered by a relative. All 3 were buried together in the same coffin. Very sad. 😢

Just watched your premiere on the pompous black widow. Good video. Just wanted to let you know that my husband and I bought a small amount of land in Parma, I'd, in 1992. We were there over the 4th of July weekend and the property was next door to my husband's sister and it was for sale. We ended up getting😊 the property and you will never guess who it belonged to. Mr. Alvin William's. We moved in over the summer and heard the rumors that Al had murdered a doctor, but was a long time ago. I started watching your video and when you mentioned the young man that was the farm hand Alvin Williams and that he was from Canyon County, I knew exactly what you were going to say. Such a small world when you think about it. Love your work and stories. You are in my homestate of Az. I am in Washington state and miss Tucson so much. Good luck in you travels and be safe. Hi Ron !- Love the video !- Will you do a video of : Bessie Smith ?- That poor woman !...- She was a Great Ragtime artist, and if im not mistaken, I think it was Janis Joplin, and someone else that finally got her a Tombstone,- But never knew where she was burried ! Maybe you could travel to her burial site.... The Details of all, are intermittent with me, ...but i do remember hearing she was in a bad car accident, and something about how she lost, or almost lost an arm in it !... She was GREAT, and her songs , my gosh, she was good at that !... We like the same kind of .usic Ron !.- But this girls singing and style, was very Fascinating !...- She was impressive in her time im sure , - Popular !- And she Still is to me !. I was just thinking of how long Glady had gotten by with her treacherous deeds. She was in a time where there really was no way of finding out about her and her past. The men she had murdered and their families. Mr. O'shea was very luck and fortunate not to ended up as so many of her other husbands. Thank you for bring this to us. Be safe on your travels. 🙏🙏🙏

Late to this video but wanted to say this is a most beautiful cemetery. All the faces and the Polish/Russian/Greek on the tombstones is just wonderful. These truly are the faces of the forgotten. I wish more people would remember their lost ones with photos.

I would make sure her grave wasn’t grown over with grass. I have found a few that were completely hidden by grass grown over the top

Those poor men...Used for their money and then lost their lives...Sounds like they loved her but all she loved was the money...And this continues today...Thank you Ron for sharing this with everyone. And the mother buried with her children is a sad story..Rest in peace to her and her babies..

Wow, Ponder this, my opinion: ok in a roundabout way yes she did have her husband the doctor murdered she just didn't physically pull that trigger. If the kid would have kept his horse in the barn.....I could say so much here but since there may be youngsters watching, I will digress. You all know where I am going with this. Murder paid back then. She got at least a third of the doctors estate (the Jordan Valley, OR ranch) and she didn't even serve 9 years of a first degree murder charge with life in prison as the sentence. To find those parole board recommendations would be fascinating

There's beautiful flowers in that cemetery. What's terrible is that when a woman commits such a crime it's more horrible to hear about than a man killing his wife or a woman. A man killing a woman seems to be the norm...and just as deplorable (re: the comments below, woman+2 children). That woman was able to fool the men or the men wanted to be fooled. Nevertheless, someone was killed and that is sad. Thank-you for the story and the book suggestion. Have a great day! 🙂

Ron loved the story. I was thinking just like my great great grandfather's marker was taken over by the grass on top of it. Where my aunt had to remove the grass on top of the headstone just like hers. I hope you can find out what happened to it.

I would like to suggest another video topic. On June 23, 2001, Bernita White was assassinated by a sniper with a high-powered rifle while she was at Potter Park Zoo in Lansing, MI. The prime suspect: Michigan State Police Sgt. Artis White, who was Bernita's estranged husband. Sgt. White was never charged and therefore never lost his job with the state police. However, police investigators and Bernita's mother were certain that Sgt. White was the culprit. Very strange story and now very forgotten.

She did get a lot of the gold - she got at least 1/3 if Broadhurst's estate. It made it possible to make her way back to Reno then Sacramento after being released from the penitentiary in Salem, OR

This was a very interesting and distinctive cemetery, with many gravestone pictures and intricate flower arrangements. As for this woman, what can I say? It almost seemed like it was her ' occupation ' . I do wonder about her last husband and if he knew anything about her past. She didn't get to kill him, obviously. Thanks for bringing us this story !

Hi Ron, it's very possible the stone is buried underneath the grass. About a year and a half ago my son and I dug up the stones from my mother's family. My grandmother's stone was so far under the grass that when we tore up the grass her name and year of birth and death were embedded under the roots.
