Early Filipino settlers in Louisiana probably migrated towards Texas as it was the neighboring state; also military bases usually have a small Filipino community as they have connections with the Navy & Air Force bases when they were in the Philippines. Not surprisingly with the amount of OFWs, you will “bump” into some wherever one travels.

He moved to our area when I was in about 4th grade. He had a daughter in my grade and there is where my love for the Filipina began. That was about 50 yrs ago. I intend to get there in the next 3 yrs. I'll be 62 by then. I hope I can still find one and live happily till the end.

Might suggest ( if you can get suitable materials )'Wells Fargo' style coach behind one of the horses. I watch lots of movies in the afternoons( too hot to do anything outside!). Including l0ts of cowboy movies. Just yesterday, watched John Wayne and Rock Hudson one. Ended up in Mexico. Was set at the very end of the civil war. Hudson and friends/ ex Confederate soldiers, were relocating to Mexico. Wayne( ex Union colonel), was collecting wild horses(3,000 of them) to sell. Fantastic scenery and action! Do you want to keep the stones ' clean and bare'?, if not put some sand/ compost in the gaps, and plant sedum plants to give low hardy multi coloured flower coverage( self seeding!).

James, another idea for you. Have a small plot nearby to grow your own vegetables & herbs for the cantina. Wouldnt be a bad idea to have certain herbs planted along the sides (basils are great for pesto sauce), along with some plants that are mosquito repellants. Since you have the pond and renewable energy from solar/wind - maybe even introduce aquaponics to make the greens for the salads in your menu.

Very small State ,,, take a look at Australian state of Western Australia ,, MUCH bigger
@TexasFilipino
@TexasFilipino 3 месяца назад
Very small state? 2nd largest state next to Alaska. Then your comparing to Australia which is almost desolate in many places. Australia ( the whole country) has a total population of 26 million, Texas ( a state in a country) has 31 million. Western Australia ( a region in a country) has a population of 2.6 million. That is a 28.4 million population difference. WA is about 3x larger but desolate with multiple deserts. Texas is ranked as the 8th largest economy among nations of the world by nominal GDP, ahead of Canada, South Korea, Russia, and Australia ( Your whole country). Do you know that Texas stores oil reserves for Australia? "The US is a trusted ally who has been essential for global oil security and we are glad to be building on our strong, longstanding relationship, while ensuring Australia is best prepared to act during a global oil disruption. "This arrangement further improves our ability to ensure stocks of critical diesel, petrol and aviation fuel to keep the economy going in the event of disruptions to supply chains. Stored underground in massive caverns in Texas and Louisiana." The Sydney Morning Herald. This comment by you was just a lame poke because your a AFFINTP supporter and fan boy. Don't be like that Dave your smarter guy than that. Let's stay civil. Thank you.

First off I like and enjoyed my time in Texas. I don’t think Texas has a unique culture if that’s what you want to call it. I grew up in Nevada but have lived in all of the western state. Just like every state in the union they have their unique history but that’s not exclusive to Texas. Every state also has a commingled history that is my view. Sam Houston himself was originally from Tennessee. Even within the state of Texas there are differences. El Paso, Del Rio, Galveston, Austin etc. are so different they could be in different states. Certainly things happened in Texas but I see it as American history. Just like Kit Carson, Loving/Goodnight, Fremont, Bowie, Crockett and all the rest. Cowboy certainly isn’t unique Texas. Most of the story about Lonesome Dove was in Colorado. Your little river walk is coming along. You certainly are building yourself a nice little resort.Really enjoyed watching the construction side of your videos. I will certainly try to mimic your process should I ever do any building. I’m also trying to provide a future for my wife and her family. I will be going to Calgary in August to get our niece off to a good start with her continuing education in agriculture. Then she can start her own business back in the Philippines providing her services to farmers. That’s the beauty of the Philippines. Lots of need and limited competition. Maybe she can start her own blog after she gets back.

Texas definitely has its own culture. That said it is not the culture my family experienced during the Revolution, Republic, and then Statehood of Texas. Having grown up in Texas and living with my family members that actually lived through Texas history and they were told the stories from their great grandparents, grandparents, and parents I don’t abide with what’s going on in Texas today. Mind your own and keep to your own business, help those in need, and don’t believe you have the right to tell someone else what they should or shouldn’t do. A lot of people have moved to Texas from other less desirable states and sadly brought their baggage and convoluted thinking to Texas. In my Texas culture a man was good for his word, a known liar was shunned, giving 100% was considered the rock bottom of effort, men could agree to disagree, makes no never mind, so let’s have a few beers. Unfortunately that’s not the Texas culture I experienced later in life, Texas culture has been twisted into something I don’t recognize anymore.

More flip flops and bare foot. You should do a video of smashed up toes.

There is no smashed up toes to do video of. They are careful and mindful. This is freedom to choose not mandated especially by a Kano in their land.

Did you need permits to do all this work? Was this part of the initial approval.

Yes we are permitted in fact we are over permitted. Meaning I got additional permits on things I did not even need permit for just to ward off people trouble makers. Maybe you missed the videos where the government come helped me do some of the work and brought heavy equipment and environmental officer for the nosey trouble makers to set them straight.

TEJAS was once known as Nuevas Reino de Filipinas when Spain had control of it. 🍺

The Philippines, was administered from Mexico, back in the days! Much more convenient, than directly from Spain itself!

There was a huge integration of Filipinos into Mexico and vice versa when Spain was controlling both countries. The tracing of it is extremely difficult because most Filipinos took on Spanish names which further increase the difficulty. Also Filipinas were taken as slaves to serve the rich back in Mexico. Spain certainly had its influence in this world. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filipino_immigration_to_Mexico
