I can't thank you enough Josh for your work bringing these works of Robert Howard to audiobook format for me to enjoy during a time in my life where I can't find the time to actually read. This channel has been a great blessing to me, and I look forward to what else is in store for the future.

Loving all these Conan stories, and I gotta say you're my favourite Conan reader of all my options here on youtube! The first one I found was ,good, but not great, another was great but well its not meant to be delivered like Shakespeare ...lol , you do it justice and keep up the great work!

This weighs on my mind, that you listen to Robert E Howard but that you might be so intelligent as to somehow misinterpret his words so poorly. When Howard refers to the beings on the island as "blacks" he's not talking about people with black skin. They are literally a monster race of super natural or otherworldly beings. The black races in Howards Hyperborean age, that's the name of his FICTIONAL world, are the Kushites also known as the black kingdoms, and the people of Darfar, both are more or less African Kingdoms, and are somtimes portrayed as savage tribal people with huge kingdoms and stone cities, they are fierce warriors and intensely superstitious Conan is often joined on adventures by a good friend and battle companion as well as fellow SLAVE, a Kushite called Juma. He is portrayed as brave and virtuous, and a good friend to Conan. Yes there are ,just like in reality in real life far more white slaves throughout history than there have ever been black ones. Bet you never bothered to learn that. In the movie Conan the Destroyer Conan's companions played by African Americans Grace Jones and Wilt Chamberlain, are also portrayed honorably and accurately to the time period and the idiom. Ooh, there's a pesky word you don't know. An idiom is a area of expertise or a "certain style or archetype" if you will, like a field of study or a line of work. Anyways have a great life 👍
