Thank you for making the video! I just installed the PCCm and took apart the driver side lower trim to route the mic. I will have it wrapped at some point. I just wanted to note the one screw that you were talking about in the video is just under the instrument cluster. You will need to gently pull out the steering/cluster top shroud and you’ll see the torx there on the left side. 10:49

Honestly, these interior pieces look great, but this hardly seems worth all the effort. A lot of interior pieces never really go back the way they should, tabs on those leather side panels on the radio console break really easy, even being as careful as I could I broke one tab on both sides recently. I’m leery of taking on and off interior & even exterior parts on 997’s I’ve had, it’s just so easy to damage them, and I start to wonder as a buyer if a used car that had been modded in this way is one I steer clear of when looking for my next project. Modding a 911 that’s almost a classic (or possibly is to some) gives many buyers pause, especially if they are Porsche fanatics. I’m not saying modding is bad, to each his own, but modding should be limited to things that improve the car without altering the looks too much, just my opinion. Morimoto LED headlights might look cool on a 997, but they look out of place to me, just replacing with better HID and high beam bulbs seemed to be a better option, without changing the whole look
Really appreciate your thoughtful response. Great to hear your perspective. For me, I always like to make my cars my own but totally get what you're saying above. I agree that the trend towards LED everything on the exterior doesn't work well for the these cars. Mine came with all of that and I just put all of the exterior lighting back to stock. That said, I'm big on interior touches and tasteful customization. Keep in mind that these Alcantara trim pieces were a factory option on many "stock" 997 GT cars. So, this is really an OEM+ style modification. I did not have any issue with tabs at all. Just have to be slow and deliberate with what you're doing and having all of the right tools makes a big difference. Thanks for so much for watching. Again, really appreciate your perspective.
I think I’m the minority but I can’t stand alcantara. You’re creating more work for me when I buy this car after you’re bored with it in a month I’ll have to go back and remove all of it haha. Still need a proper walk around vid of the car, all we saw was pics on a pc of it prior to buying it.
To each their own of course. There will be plenty of footage of the car as the series progresses. Wheel install and fitment are next. Lots of footage of the whole car there.
