Growing up I avoided movies from the 1970s. The only 70s movies I watched were the big ones like The Godfather, Star Wars, Rocky, Alien and Jaws. This is the 3rd 70s movie in a row (not intentional) and I've got to know, what are some other 70s movies that I missed out on?
You got most of the best listed, but there's always Scorsese's movies from the 70's, 'A Clockwork Orange,' 'Dog Day Afternoon,' 'The Deer Hunter,' 'The French Connection' (I've never seen it, but it's supposed to be great), 'Young Frankenstein' and 'Blazing Saddles' (obviously). Maybe 'The Hills Have Eyes' and 'The Last House on the Left' if you wanna go horror. 'Dirty Harry,' 'Dolemite,' there's plenty to watch from that decade.
Smokey and the Bandit is great. Keeping with our loosey-goosey sci-fi theme, Close Encounters of the Third Kind is worth it. Maybe the original The Wicker Man if you want to see it before diving deep into Nic Cage's oeuvre.
Scrooge 1970 with Albert Finney Loneliest Runner 1976 My favorite version of scrooge and a movie that got my dad into cross country running. I feel like you could get some mileage out of the mother character in Loneliest Runner if you ever did a breakdown on it.
Hey it's great to have you back! We all missed you . Another amazing video and I do love the stuff from the 70s so keep it up. The IMDb comment was awesome
I grew up in europe. I moved to California with my parents and this was the first American movie I saw in a theaters..and I ended up growing up and producing my own films in the industry..thank you Irwin allen..thank you John williams
Like even before a worldwide pandemic I cannot imagine being trapped at sea with several dozen or more strangers. Nerd had the same reaction as I do to Leslie's dramatic roles. An interesting example is Day of the Animals where Nielsen is so over the top as the bad guy it's hard to tell.
This is the film that kicked off the disaster movie genre. I personally love this movie for nostalgic reasons, I loved it when I was a kid. My parents had taken us to the Queen Mary in Long Beach in 1973. That means we were likely on that boat around the same time they were filming the outdoor scenes

My great grandmother showed me this movie when i was 9. The only thing i remember is a guy falling into a fire... Which is odd as its a ship and water is everywhere 😂
@DistractedNerd It's 'Men's Wearhouse'... that clever play on words was hiding in front of me for decades until a couple of years ago. Was driving by one when the revelation was made and went home to reassess my lack of awareness of the world around me
Naa I think it's like a little mafia dude who goes around with a notebook and tape measure, getting his customers measurements, sends the orders to the sweat shops in an old Italian town. The fabric is produced with a special cotton, special wool, and silk only found on the sea side town of Palermo. The women producing the suites have a lineage going back generations, and can only teach their direct female descendants. .....I think that's what it means...not sure.
