I hadn’t heard that rumor. The new owner of Potomac Eagle had previously been involved with the Grand Canyon Railway. Steam had been discussed as a possibility, but Potomac eagle doesn’t really have an infrastructure to support steam operation. They don’t even have indoor storage.
If you ever come down to the Stewartstown Railroad any time soon, you just might run into me on the Plymouth or 44 ton. I'm currently a fireman trainee there. We also have a Gramling 0-4-0 that visits periodically as well.
The B&O Museum operated the William Mason from 1998-2012, and also ran the replica of Lafayette for a number of years. The issue with most B&O steam still around is how old they are, and none really suited in size for tourist operation.
@@DynamoProductions-trains Ah man I'm gonna miss it on the Potomac Eagle at least sits in a place were FPA-4 units are well at Home as they are the back bone of the Grand Canyon railway diesel locomotive fleet even though they have F40FH locomotives They are still used on some occasion's particularly in the Winter months As a historic note the Grand Canyon railway owns the last FPA-4 built number 6793
