Well, 95% of us aren’t legends, aren’t 99,9 ovr, don’t have as much skill as you and probably have delay. So yeah, defensive builds are good (or op) only in the right hands.

I got a similar build at 6’6 at 99 overall with max wing span, 82 ball control, contact dunks at 89, 3pt at 68, and high defense. The game called it a 2 way finisher 😂

People used to complain in previous 2ks that's u can't make nba player builds because builds couldn't do everything. Now we can make builds like this and everyone's saying it's cheese. I personally love this year's build system.

I honestly think this is the power of being a legend

I have a feeling the majority of people bashing the build have never used a pure red chart lol. All 95 defensive ratings besides interior. I can go up with some boof and grab my own board over bigs. Can stop most big post moves and block most bigs, 91 driving dunk pro ball handles 95 vert 94 speed 12 playmaking badges. You can do everything he's doing except shoot w/o being a legend. If You sacrifice a few attributes you can get I think a 50 3 and 3 shooting badges which is more than enough to spot up with. You stack +5 from ovrs , +5 from boost and +4 from floor general that's an extra 14 attributes(64 3 ball). Alot of people can shoot off dribble with that without a meter.(2way slash play has a 68/69 3 ball and they shoot off hard stops) I made it for the first time a few weeks ago and was surprised how good it was even without badges. I didn't go with shooting but it makes defense and finishing almost feel effortless

No doubt that the attributes are broken, but I think the biggest issue is badges. Pure locks can get the same level of range extender (limitless) as pure stretches last year. Pure locks can get the same level of ankle breaker as primary playmakers last year (this idea applies to all builds, not just locks, but this video is locks). I love being able to customize my badges, there’s so much more diversity, but there needs to be more restrictions on who can equip what badges. Plus, can’t really compare 13 to 3 shooting badges

People yes this build is very good but don't let this distract you from the fact that this man is a legend so all those stats really don't matter like you get contact dunks with one finishing badge like who are you slashing on and you get a 54 3-point shot with 3 badge points you have enough for a quick draw that's it you're really not going to be doing anything but defense but you're not even going to really be doing much on defense because you're a guard

This is exactly why I don’t want the archetypes/ pie chart back for next gen 🤦🏾‍♂️ they can’t get it right they literally ruin the competitive balance of the game to the point where it is not playable and anyone can beat u 🗣 they have to go back to that old system we had from 2k10-16 we deserve it 💯

Any build could green and if you have the right takeover you could easily break ankles it just takes skill

If you really wanted to show how overpowered this build was you should do it without legend. I would love to see you pull up from limitless with three badges or maybe getting contacts with one finishing badge

I’m sure you hear this a lot but it is true. You can shoot dribble and dunk with this built because you are a legend. If you weren’t you would have 3 shooting and 1 finishing badge! So the game isn’t broken legends are OP

Joe yes if u think abt it it helps the game really bcuz if u play 2v2 and BOTH TEAMS have a scoring guard and a defensive big then think about it it would be WAYYYYY harder to score bcuz the guards would go against the bigs and then they just wouldn’t be able to score

If you nerf locks you gotta nerf the athleticism of every build that has red, which would destroy inside bigs and anything with red in it. So the 2 way sharps, Reb. Wings, etc. All those builds should suffer in athleticism if we nerfing locks.

I’m of the belief that attributes should matter more. Badges shouldn’t be such a crutch. Like yes they are supposed to help, but they aren’t supposed to give you that much of a boost. Badges are what really make the game broken.

Well it’s only because he’s legend, giving the build extra badge upgrades. If this build weren’t legend, it would be balanced because without the extra 10 shooting badges, it wouldn’t be able to shoot.

I think 2k21 should have a badge that makes it a lower chance that the ref sees you do a violation so James harden will have this on like hof

What’s even worse is that I made my 6’8 pure lock speedboost on takeover. I play with a friend with floor general and I have a 62 ball handle max wingspan. I have really high speed like it’s base is like 87-88, (I maintain my 99ovr really easily) then with take it’s up to 94-95. If I put shooting on the build I could easily pull up with it.

I hate how he says you can still be dominant without legend. He needs to take off all his legend badges and show us. Only .00000000001 of people are legend. So pretty much every buddy can’t make that build. If you have 40 extra badges obviously your offense gonna be decent

Cool that you can get playmaker takeover but, if you weren't a legend then you're rarely getting contact dunks, pretty much only shooting from the corner and not running anklebreaker so this would be terrible haha

Tbh on my 3pt playmaker with 9 defensive badges I can play pretty decent defense. The issue is that it's a tad easier to play offense shorthanded when you have a defensive build than to play defense shorthanded when you have an offensive build

I’d recommend everybody that made play shots and offensive threats to play with a lockdown pie chart or a playmaking lockdown pie chart cause everybody try and use offensively good builds but they got no defense and they sell me every time I play 2k

I just watched splyze green almost every shot if not every shot on a pure red build with 52 3 ball. He’s a demon greening consistently like that but it should not even be POSSIBLE to do that in the first place.
