Hi Vicky, I really like how you combined multiple strategies to be able to "bridge the gap" so to speak between the interviewer and person being interviewed. I have never heard of the Cunningham method before and I plan on using that to help engage my online community. Thanks as always for the great content!

I would worry about sounding stupid in front of someone who has authority over me, such ad a teacher who could give me a lower grade by knowing how much I don't know, or a manager for similar reasons. In these situations, I would ask questions from e.g. a private tutor, a trusted colleague, etc. A counter quote is, “It is better to remain silent, rather than open your mouth to show them how stupid you are.” It is okay and encouraged to ask questions during say a brainstorming session, but not during say, a viva exam. For example don’t ask what is the escape velocity to launch into outer space during a viva exam on Astro physics, where this knowledge was part of the syllabus.
