There are many good churches which have a pastor who is a good Bible teacher, and the people understand the Scriptures -- and yet the real power of God is not operating in their midst. God's power working through His Word and His Spirit bring about result - healing, deliverance and salvation.
When we are looking for a friend, partner, pastor or a place to worship, we are tempted to look only at externals -- what we can see. You cannot see beyond what you can see with your eyes, what we read on the pages of the newspaper, what our feelings tell us. If we judge a man based on his speaking skills, we have not looked deep enough. A man can be a pastor, Christian in profession and not such in heart. If we base our judgement on what man speaks only, preaches only, teaches only -- we have not looked deep enough.
