If you knew any of the Canaanite gods, like Inanna, Enkil, Dimuzi, or Erishkegal, you would know that they are NOTHING like the God of Israel in terms of character, even if there might be a similarity in name or language. You may have two Mike's at school or work or names that sounds similar, but you would know the person's character and reputation and be able to differentiate between the two. And the God of the Bible, the God of Israel, is much different than the gods of the Canaanites, no matter how similar their names may appear. If you want to debate language, our English word, asterick (*) comes from Ashtoreh, the same goddess known as Ishtar, Inanna, depending on which Canaanite or Middle Eastern culture you were dealing with. On a side note, Ishtar is not the same as Aphrodite or Venus or Isis or Hathor, although both were fertility/love goddesses. Aphrodite and Venus were the same/similar, as they shared the same mythological stories and were sister cultures (Greek/Roman), whereas Inanna, Ishtar, etc were similar or sister cultures, whereas a Babylonian or Sumerian culture has similarities with a Greco-Roman culture.

There are no two premises in the Bible or anywhere to Conclude that God’s name is Jehovah. In peoples presentations they make a claim with YHWH. Exodus 3:15. See people have put vowels in YHWH like Yehovah and then claim that this is God’s name which is incorrect and false. What right do we have to tell God what his name is. Why would God create A New Heaven and New Earth and a New Jerusalem that came down from heaven. Revelation 21:1 Why was it not called Jehovah or Any other names they FALSELY CLAIM.
